Ugh that's sucks about the damage! Sorry, man.
Could have been the hatch glass. I sold a Kuat rack, so that should cover it. Sucks that was my mod kitty. The dent should come out via dentless & the chip should be easy to spray.

I hadn't owned a Japanese car in years before getting my ITS, and one of the first things I noticed coming from BMWs is how dreadfully soft the Honda paint is. If I look at it sideways it'll chip!

Yep, this is my 5th in the Honda family & it's very delicate paint. This was a hard strike, I expected real damage. Our bimmers have been hit with boulders & just needed a damp cloth afterwards.

I decided it was time to add a bit more oomph to the sound system. I don't recall where now but I saw someone did a frequency curve test and showed the low end had a lot of bass. I don't know how they did their test, but that is certainly not the case in my car. My sub gets totally lost in every situation other than idling, and mids seem to be really bright. I love mids, but I like my hearing too. For reference, I've tried every setting under the sun, and turning off dts neural, dolby, etc while using lossless audio. The stock system is okay and I'd call it mid-tier, but nothing to write home about. The fender in my gti blew the els away, and even the bose in our audi is better... And it's a bose πŸ˜‘

I followed another thread I saw where they tested the Rockford 8",so I bought one and gave it a go. For 170$, ripping up an old pillow, and a bit of kilmat in strategic locations it really cleaned up the bass. Post Malone doesn't sound washed out anymore! I listen to a variety of music, and classic rock has really started to shine now. I don't like "too clean" of a sound for classic rock, because it was always intended to be heard on buzzier speakers so the middle of the road tweeters and mids in the els do a good job there. There's room for an amp by the box, so down the road I may add an inline high feed mono to triple the power output, but that may be overkill.

The other thing I did was place kilmat behind the rear plastic trim at the lower hatch area. I did sound deadening on the walls there on the metal but it always bothered me how cheap and hollow that plastic was. Some kilmat there makes a huge difference in feel, and it no longer echoes when you tap on it. It feels a lot more premium now... A lot.

For the most part.

I had to trim a tiny bit of the thin top plastic on the box, and hacksaw a tiny bit of the surround at the bottom. Super easy to do and I filed it so it looks like it was made for it. I also used a few copper washers under the screws that came with the Rockford so there was no chances of them going through the screw mount backside, but could also just cut them down or use a different screw.

Yeah they just layer it on way too thick and the clear is garbage... Even Porsche paint is better, and generally their paint is crap.

The Testor's enamel gloss red is what I use, I think it works well though it may be a little too bright compared to the rest of red in the car. Coincidentally it's also a great match for the calipers too! Good idea to have some paint remover on hand and some lint free cloths also. Might need a few layers to really bring out the pattern. It took me a couple of layers to achieve the look I wanted.

I've gotten a little better at infill, just did a Nismo knob for my brother's Z lol.

Yeah same approach here. I've done it before and there really is an art to it. Lots of fun!
I've dipped them in melted wax gently and etched out the letters with a toothpick. Then spray primer, paint, clear, cook wax off. Tedious, but it works.

Any plans to do the "door trim"? I've been contemplating pulling the dash trim to wrap it but it bothers me so much that the stock setup the trim doesn't match... I've considered the stick on carbon for this reason alone, but not too big a fan.

I've also considered buying the carbon door trim just to wrap it in Alcantara or to wrap the dash, carbon door trim, and shifter surround in a couple layers of nicer vinyl to get that m3 rhombicle-like appearance. I really wish someone would just make dark aluminum trim for it. In a black interior I feel everything else gets lost.
Sorry Vic I didn't notice this post. I've been contemplating the door cards. It's in the plans just not immediately. Still trying to determine which parts I'd like to be leather and which to be alcantara.

Aaron at Sweidit is my go-to for interior work.
