I agree.nope. got the type s because I need the rear seats.
If I didn't, I'd shop the Supra.
Meh what good is double wishbone if itās not optimized and set up correctlyI agree.
Z does have double-wishbone going for it. Pretty rare at this price these days.
This. They slapped a turbo, a new skin and updated a few interior bits from the original 350z (basically slapped on a screen). I owned a manual 370, and a manual G35 coupe, and while I liked the cars, the ITS is far more engaging to drive. The transmission in Nissans is meh.Meh what good is double wishbone if itās not optimized and set up correctly
from what Iāve heard. A tuned z with full bolt ons and tires still runs laps slower than a bone stock zf8 mk5 Supra. The Supra is a macpherson too
Nissan needs to invest in the zās chassis and suspension some more imo
The only issue with them is the suspension geo. Otherwise for balance they're solid.Meh what good is double wishbone if itās not optimized and set up correctly

I donāt disagree with U bro. Buy what U like. Buy what speaks to you. But that old platform is clearly overwhelmed by the zās extra tq man. Kinematically, itās tired and needs to be totally redone. It comes off like that Mercedes shit the charger and challenger are built onThe Z is an enthusiast bargain, just gets no love. Who cares if its based on a old platform. If that platform is good, it works. Plenty of good cars have done this.
Having owned at the same time a 370 sport and 981, they are very different experiences.
If I didn't still have the 981, I'd be hard pressed not to look at a new Z for sports car value. Granted, I do love Zs going back to the 240 but trying to look at it objectively, 400HP turbo 2 seat sports car, where is there a better value? Its less then the supra.
I'm in the same boat as @optronix , 4 doors and a hatch with a manual: love me the ITS.
I understand for many the need for four doors and a decent backseat. For me I don't need those things in this car, I am just looking for the best driving experience value, and maybe a step up into a true rear wheel drive platform. Also, isn't the new Z a hatch after all, and one that is likely more practical and easy to live with than the Supra? Finally I would not have brought up this question if it was not the Nismo version, as I do not think the regular Z is sporty enough. Appreciate all the answers back! The Z is an enthusiast bargain, just gets no love. Who cares if its based on a old platform. If that platform is good, it works. Plenty of good cars have done this.

Took the words right out of my mouth.I like the car. I'd consider it, but as someone already mentioned- no rear seats is non-negotiable.
And yes I think I like the Supra better, but I'd drive both. M2 also would be in the mix... but honestly I'd probably pick an F87 M2 over all of them. Especially a CS. Manual. In blue with gold wheels.
I'm still over here waiting for a reimagining of the Silvia.
