I’m want to get one of those thingies that has l the metal pins on it. Use it to cut wood flooring around the corner or something. You push it up against the surface you’re trying to line up with and it gives you a perfect line, and then you can trace that onto whatever you’re cutting. I know there’s such a device.

Are you talking about a door jamb tool?

You can make your own jig for a basic backsaw that can do that.

No. I was talking about the contour gauge. Put it in the back of the mud flap and get the perfect line.

Got my winter wheel and tire setup delivered today. I’m off Monday, so I plan on applying C5 ceramic coat to the wheels then so they have plenty of time to cure before I install them in a month or so.

Specs for anyone interested:
Wheels: Sparco FF4, 18x9.5 +45
Tires: Pirelli P-Zero AS Plus 3, 265/35

I just wanted to be different than everyone running Volks and DWS06’s 😆

Are these the concave FF4’s from TireRack? I was actually looking at the exact same wheel/tire setup for my winters. Do you have more pics of wheels and maybe mounted on the car?

Successfully installed black front A-mark without completely removing bumper

Just wanted to let future DIYers who are thinking of tackling this job that it's possible to do without fully removing the front bumper. All I needed to do was remove the push rivets in the engine bay, and then the push rivets and two screws in each front wheel wells. The bumper can then pop out from the radiator support and from under the headlights to gain some clearance from the top. With some fenagling, you can easily get a hand and a screwdriver of your choice to remove the two screws that secure the A mark. Was quite easy - took maybe 30 minutes of futzing around.

Do take note that the six central push rivets on the top of the bumper cover have metal washers sandwiched between the cover and the chassis mounting point. Make sure not to let these fall out (ask me how I know) as they are not secured by anything other than the rivet. I slid them out and pocketed them for safe keeping until reassembly.

Yes, they are the concave FF4’s from tire rack. I don’t have them mounted on the car yet, I probably won’t put them on till closer to October. Huge bonus is that the center bore is apparently 64.1, so it matches up perfectly without hubcentric rings. I measured and then test fit a rear one just to be sure. It wasn’t listed anywhere that I could find, so I just ordered them and figured I’d measure once they arrived.

Few pics from when I ceramic coated them, still need to use some Gtechniq C4 to seal them up:

Have a little time off this week, so I installed the Homelink mirror and harness. TwoStep Performance offers a complete kit. Yet another “option” this car should’ve come with standard at this price point.

Maybe a 25-30 minute install.

Any tips on removing the A pillars? Mine occasionally rattle against the windshield. I've got some felt tape to address it, but I haven't pulled them off yet.

Installed the PRL RMM tonight. It adds a little vibration through the pedals, but it's minor. The 1-2 shift is smoother; the car has less wheel hop, and it has eliminated that "rubber-band" feeling when you first get on the throttle.

I did struggle to torque down the horizontal bolt. You need a crowsfoot if you don't remove the front pipe, and it wants to deflect. It might be easier if you have a lift and lots of clearance, but on jack stands with limited room, it was hard to keep the wrench from deflecting. I couldn't quite get it to torque spec for fear of rounding off the bolt.

They’re easy to take off. You can pry using just your hands closest to the windshield. There’s two clips and one of them is a one time use only. Do not take off the A-pillar unless you have the replacement clip.

Once you pop the clips, you pull up gently and the A-pillar will slide off.

Reinstalled my newly upholstered armrest and sun visors.
