In fact, what I did is this: since the capacity is roughly 2.3 qts, I obviously bought three bottles. So I left the secondary fill port plugged and poured in all three bottles through the main fill port. Then I opened the secondary and let the overfill drain out. Idea was to encourage a "flushing" of sorts, given I was switching from the factory fill.

I'm a fan of the look of the Apexi. How does it sound compared to stock in terms of: Volume, pitch, and drone?

Thanks!

MUCH deeper exotic tone compared to stock (it's very nice). The pops and bangs have a deeper tone too...not snappy / crackling like the OEM cat-back.

Sport+ and full throttle...People will know you're coming from a mile away.

It has very mild drone around 3K rpm when in sport or sport+ but not unbearable. I have a DP and front-pipe, so drone may not be an issue for those that just do the cat-back only.

Thanks! I assume you kept the valve plugged in rather than going wide open all the time?

Correct.

- Remove the electric actuator from the OEM cat-back, then plug it back into the car
- Wait 5-10 seconds and the actuator will reset.
- Install onto the new Apexi system and you're good to go.

I've disabled the valve on my stock exhaust and prefer it that way. Was curious if the Apexi drones when left permanently open.

Well, there is something with 2.0L motors and full 3" exhaust where drone (even if mild) is unavoidable. It may NOT drone if you're doing the cat-back only.

I have a catted TSP down-pipe, PRL front-pipe and the Apexi cat-back. There is some mild drone around that 3K rpm (80 mph) highway speed but it's not really unbearable. That goes for any mode (comfort, sport or sport+).

I've heard from others with my exact same setup that it tames down after a little burn in.

I'm actually thinking of doing a custom axle back using vibrant components. I am not a fan of the triple tips (I know, such a dumb thing to care about). I am considereing: 1) a dual muffler offset entry-exit setup a la HKS legamax, 2) single muffler dual in and out, 3) dual large diameter and length bottle resonators similar to your Apexi but valveless.

I have one of the "milder" exhausts, the Invidia Q300. No downpipe, but the Q300 comes with a front-pipe.

It drones in some settings, particularly off-throttle. It's not "unbearable" but it is noticeable enough.

I don't really see how an aftermarket exhaust could truly advertise "no drone". I don't think that's a reasonable expectation to coincide with increased volume.

All that being said, I love this exhaust and the only thing I'd change is the double-walled tips like the Apex'i. (I do like the triple tips, makes the car distinct IMO... but I also really like the Apex'i). This car is too quiet from the factory.

Have you considered going "all-in" with the alcantara interior?

Just some food for thought.
Seeing this is what's making me pause on doing a CF shifter surround, and CF dash trim. This looks awesome, Ken!

It's the following: https://unity-performance.com/produ...ic-type-r-fk8-fl5?_pos=6&_sid=4dc84df66&_ss=r

I didn't list it for the DE5 earlier as I wasn't 100% sure it would fit, hours glad to see someone's gone ahead and tested.

I ordered the whole Cusco and PRL chassis bracing catalog last week for my FL5. Will be able to good pics and verify if all fits without any modifications like cutting the undertray

Awesome Will order the rear Cusco brace from you if it fits. After fitting the front and looking at the rear it should bolt right up....
