Just did my first couple of real pills in the car, only going to 6.5k rpm as the max for now, but damn! This thing is quick! I’ve only done a max of 75% max throttle and the car just gets up and goes no hesitation. I plan on taking this to the dragon next week and now it’s got me worried I’m gonna be going too fast! The pull I did onto the highway was similar to an m4 cs I drove where you just get in boost and start rocketing forward. I love it!
I'm with you on that one - this car feels plenty quick for me.

I guess my previous cars were all just slow and having a truck as a DD the last few years certainly didn't help. I'm sure folks here that have had porsches, M4s etc would think otherwise but I haven't truly been able to stretch its legs because the car picks up speed quick enough that it just doesn't feel safe on public roads.

Break in periods vary on lots of different models. BMW requires a 1200 mile break in service. If you don't do it you void your warranty.

Acura is not that way. If people want to change oil at 1k miles... be my guest, lol. Unnecessary interval in my opinion, but I do not pay for your vehicle.
I will follow the manufacturer recommendations as I am lazy and don't change it myself anymore. I think I remember seeing that the first oil change is free? I have been spoiled with Audi Care and BMW prepaid maintenance and usually get rid of my cars before that period is over so everything has been essentially free for the most part. It will be a change coming to Acura. I'm excited for it though.

I plan on breaking mine in for about 500-600 miles. I have done 1000 miles and let's be honest even 50 miles is hard to do. People are right though that these cars are driven hard at the factory during their burn in testing they do for every vehicle. But hard testing for 5 miles is different than hard driving for hundreds of miles. I plan to keep it at a reasonable RPM for the first 500 - 600 miles and then start increasing from that.

For years now cars come from the factory broken in. I don't get crazy until 500 or so miles to seat the brakes. No more break in oil like in the old days when i started to drive.
Engines are not broken at the factory. They are checked for function and leaks. Do you think factories have the time to break in hundreds if not thousands of engines?

Adding to the thread for perpetuity.

Changed my factory fill out to Motul 0W-30 at 750 miles. Will do another change at 2k, then will do 3k OCI's moving forward with the benefit of FCPEuro's lifetime replacement program.

I kept mine under 5k Revs and 50% throttle for the first 600 miles. I changed the oil and filter at 1000 miles with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and then again at 3000 miles with Amsoil OE. I am waiting for the 1 free oil change at the dealer and will continue to change my own oil at 3000 mile intervals.

I had excellent success with my last new vehicle this way. It was a 2013 F150 Ecoboost, and if you know how temperamental those engines are with maintenance, then you know. I had zero timing system issues (common for the VVT solenoids to go and timing chain "stretch" is common). I got rid of it at 90k miles. Before so, I was changing spark plugs and borescoped the cylinders, valves, and timing chain which looked excellent. Valves had minimal carbon, but I also had a catch can.

I don't beat on it, but I do drive it spiritedly from time to time. I enjoy this car very much. I will spare no expense on 3000 mile oil changes.

I didn’t redline it every gear, but I gradually took it up to 5-6k a few times every drive. At 600 miles, did my first oil change and then sent it.

I just had my first oil change at 3,100 miles as the computer suggested. It was showing 15%. The tire tread measured about 7/32", pretty consistent on all four. That would suggest a tire life of around 10-12K miles. I don't abuse the car, but I expect a larger than average portion of my miles is under enthusiastic conditions. I'm retired and the car sits in the garage until I feel like driving, which generally means that I feel like some spirited driving. Just wondering if my experience with oil and tires is generally similar to others who drive in a comparable manner.
