2025 Integra Type S - Liquid Carbon
I really wanted to like the Type S. I really did. The issues I kept having with mine though made me want to get into something else. I pulled the trigger on another M850i and have to say I am quite happy with that decision. I will still be lurking around here for awhile though.

I can hardly think of two more different cars. Yes, if the M850i pleases you, then the Integra is off the plate. I can sympathize with you, as I come from a background of high HP rear drive cars, although more sports oriented than the M850i, such as, Cayman, GT3, ZO6, etc. I thought of getting out of the Integra shortly after purchase. I've now had it a year, and I'm still not sure how I feel about it. I guess I consider it a long-term experiment that continues. As an enthusiast and a student of cars and driving, I am now favorably impressed with what the engineering team has accomplished with the ITS. Fundamental front-drive dynamics can't be changed or ignored. But I no longer consider front drive to be so inherently inferior that it can't be attractive to a driving enthusiast. The combination of relatively light weight, the front suspension design, LSD, and plenty of tire contact surface, has produced a car that I find pretty impressive. Its handling capabilities far exceed my original expectations. The M850i is a very impressive machine in its own way. You have owned one before, so I'm sure you know its character and will be pleased with it.

I’m in the boat too, I have wanted to trade my type s a couple of times to get a car that has more power but there is a driving dynamic that the type r/s provides that is definitely pleasing. If I leave the platform it will probably be a ct4v blackwing, had one before and kinda been kicking myself for trading it in, the tremec is imho significantly more robust than the transmission in the type s and the power difference is significant too. Yet despite the anemic power etc I really do enjoy driving the s, it’s a special car just wish it had about 375-400 from factory especially for the price.

Knowing the sum of the issues you felt, I can understand. I still go back and forth on mine.

Despite how bloated and soft the recent bimmers have become, they make incredibly good daily drivers. The tech, maturity, and quality of our X7 blows a lot of cars out of the water. The fact it drives like a medium sedan is wild.

Enjoy the new car!

I don’t think it’s fair to compare German luxury and tech to Japanese brands. Even if U were to compare to Lexus it wouldn’t be fair šŸ˜‚

And the great Manual Transmission.

I drove Caddy CT4V Blackwing today. It is a great car, and maybe my next car. I really believe it is a better driver's car than the current BMW M cars.

Specifically how do you think it's better than the ITS? How is it inferior?

Having owned one for a year, it’s just all around a much better car. Plenty of power, 0-60 4.1 but it can carve up road courses with the best of them. Magniride is light years better than the adaptive suspension in the s or r and of course it’s rear wheel drive. There isn’t much comparison wise between the two, love my type s still and it’s special but pretty sure I will be in a blackwing again one day.

Appreciate that, thanks. A lot more money though, and 600 lbs. heavier. Just a tad longer but way less practical.

It's really not a matter of better or inferior, but simply the dynamics of a 320 hp front driver and a 480 hp rwd. I'm an old fart, and my experience is with high hp rwd sports cars. The handling characteristics of the 2 platforms is drastically different near the limit, but not consequential for daily driving.

The CT4 V Blackwing’s a sweet car! My dad has one of the 2023 track editions. It has plenty of power and the carbon fiber seats are nice! Here’s a picture along side my previous TLX Type S.
