"The key to this process is to ensure that the spring is set in such a way that it creates pressure against the exhaust valve. However, this pressure should not be directed downward; instead, it should be applied so that you need to move the actuator slightly counterclockwise while pressing against the valve to align the bolts properly.

"During this process, you might need to "reset" the actuator several times or even more, as it tends to rotate a few degrees each time you reset it.

In the videos I’ve watched, they only reset the actuator once and then proceed with installation without giving proper attention to the fact that there needs to be some spring pressure keeping the valve shut. Make sure to maintain this pressure to ensure a proper installation

Feel free to comment or DM if you have any questions.

TLDR; Reset the actuator a few times until it sits at an angle that allows the spring creates pressure to keep exhaust valve closed."

I should also apologize for the brevity of my prior note. Great video. Very informative and helpful. The exhaust sounds amazing and looks good too. Thank you for sharing. I want one.

It's a really great option for the DE5. I was able to pick the exhaust up from Invidia early on and installed it and then had the rear end cerakoted black. I made a flange for the OE muffler section to be able to bolt up to the Invidia piping and swap out mufflers whenever I feel like. I'm in California so scared to draw any attention.

Hi all, haven't checked the thread in a bit! Crazy busy the last 2 weeks, the exhaust really jumped in popularity. After Mike's setup that we installed here, the one in-stock unit was sold shortly after.

More are on the way from Invidia USA to us. Not sure if all are on the forum here, but at various times throughout this month shipping notifications will be going out :)

I got the exhaust late last week and got it installed yesterday. Conveniently I also had an autocross event this morning and I am pleased to report that the exhaust is fantastic! It seems like a perfect fit for what I was looking for- just enough more volume to sound "aftermarket" without introducing annoying drone, even in Sport+. It doesn't add the obnoxious AF "gunshot" effect to the pops and bangs either.

It really does nail the OEM+ archetype... maybe OEM++. I like the tone too, I do not have an aftermarket downpipe so it isn't as "raspy" as some of the videos out there, for better or worse. I may get a downpipe eventually but for now I don't feel like I need one. But I was just a bit concerned that I might regret not getting one of the "rowdier" exhausts (e.g., the very R400 mentioned in this thread), but I def made the right call. Especially at the price point! (20 year old me in 1999 couldn't imagine being thrilled to only pay $1300 for an exhaust but the times we live in...). But this one hits the "nostalgia" note I was looking for... not quite as "iconic" as say, a '98 Integra GS-R- but it makes me smile.

I will point out though that I didn't notice in pictures until I got it that the center pipe is just slightly "elevated" compared to the other two. I kind of dig it because it looks like it was designed that way with the larger diameter piping that is very visible in the pics, but some folks may expect the tips to be totally even and be disappointed. There might be a way (I'm sure someone can find a way...) to make the tips more even for those who feel it's a necessity, but I don't mind it at all.

Also, in case anyone is expecting it to be as quiet as OEM in comfort, it's not. I've heard drone before and this is definitely not that- not even with the valve opened as I mentioned earlier- but you will have to turn your radio up just a bit more with the windows rolled up. In some stretches on a highway in 6th gear it's noticeable. It's an aftermarket exhaust after all, but I also wanted to point that out because some folks may think there's an implication that there isn't a compromise at all with an exhaust like this and expect it to be as quiet as stock. That's not an accurate assumption.

Overall, awesome purchase and highly recommend to anyone out there considering upgrading the volume and tone of this K20C.

One final note- I did not notice any increase in power. Maybe there was, maybe there wasn't- but not noticeable like it was with the intake. I do have the Infinity Design intake and inlet tube installed already and like I mentioned, did notice a pretty decent amount of extra punch from like 3500 rpm to redline when it was first installed... but the exhaust, just noise FWIW.

Also  to Unity for being extra communicative and accurate with their assessment on shipping. I will definitely look at their site first when parts shopping in the future!

Thank you for clarifying that. That's all I needed to hear for me to continue being content with my stock exhaust plus aftermarket DP and FP.

Yeah but it's a worthy tradeoff. A few more days in with it and it's only mildly intrusive if you're actively listening for it. I keep waiting for my wife to say something and she hasn't. In fact she says she likes it.

Also worth noting is that the absolute prime reason for me getting an exhaust at all is that I could barely hear the engine with the windows down and a helmet on when I had the car on a race track. I think the car sounds pretty good as it comes stock but there's just not enough volume. This exhaust fixes that and doesn't go overboard with unwanted noise.

It also retains the valve, uses flanged connections, and comes in at a reasonable price.

Frankly, this should be a wake-up call, imo... the standard for FL5 and DE5 exhausts so far has been that they cost 50% more, use slip-fit connectors, and often ditch the valve.

This is the type of product we should be getting, and it serves as evidence that it's possible to bring one to market at this price-point and with these features. To each their own, but I'm tired of hearing otherwise when reading excuses for cheaply made, slip-fit exhausts for this platform.

This makes sense, especially for hearing your engine on track and since you don't have a DP, which would increase sound. Sometimes I wish I had a little more exhaust volume when I'm in valve-open modes, but I don't wanna lose the total quiet of comfort. I've considered removing the small donut muffler on the center pipe and replacing it with a straight pipe as that would give louder valve-open exhaust but retain the stock comfort exhaust sounds.

This exhaust was my first choice after watching every exhaust vid I could as I'm sure you all have as well but I wanted something with this kind of tone but a little louder. I eventually took the chance and went with the r400. I am extremely happy I did. I have a TSP downpipe and with this exhaust it's exactly what I wanted.

I'd describe it as being a louder Apexi but as optronix pointed out, the pops are more pops that are a little more subdued and not the loud AF snaps or cracks that some other exhausts get which I also appreciate. Comfort is around sport levels now with minimal drone when cruzing around but still livens up when you get on it as if you were in sport.

Sport and sport+ just turns everything up. Accel and decel is very noticeable but tight sounding and not raspy or raw like a dp fp combo with a stock exhaust.
