I suspect my Pilkington glass was installed incorrectly because the HUD display was undeniably distorted and crooked. Along with the noise and vibration, I couldn’t accept it as it was.

Now to see if my tint guy wants to cover new windshield tint in his warranty. Feeling a little naked with a clear windshield.

I have never had an issue with any other vehicle I have had. The 2nd day I had my ITS I had a small rock hit right under my HUD. Didn't star or anything. Left a tiny blemish on the window.

Yeah I don't know what it is about acura windshield and paint, but it chips like no other. IMHO, ppf is pretty mandatory on this car. First 400 miles I stayed a quarter mile behind people and only drove as necessary until my ppf appointment. I still had 7-8 rock chips develop. None of my cars have ever developed chips on doors, so I chose not to ppf the doors... Well now I have half a dozen chips on the front doors at 10k mi. I opened the passenger door in my garage and BARELY bumped into some lacquered oak, and the edge of the door chipped a solid inch down to the metal. My glass is peppered to no end after a few track days and looks like glass you'd find on a racecar that has done 100k track miles. My actual racecar that had 40k+ track miles has glass in better shape. The other day someone changed lanes on a freshly half paved road in front of me, and a rock flew up that actually took a 1/4" chunk out of the entire top layer of my glass, down to the laminate.

Oh, the caliper paint is also bad... Mine have chips everywhere. A few are from me using a hammer to get the pins in and out, but most just appeared out of nowhere. The wheel paint on both bronze and grey is also known to chip and flake if you sneeze near it.

I just don't get it. If you dig through my build thread you'll find I measured the paint with a proper measuring device and it varies across panels and the whole car much more than any other vehicle I've ever owned. Some panels have as much as 2mil of variation!!! That's awful for a brand new car with no body work.

Agree on all of the chipping crap. Brake calipers especially. Just a minor bump will do it. FWIW, the Apex rims are also this way. They just get beat to hell easily.
