Call that shop back and tell them. Hopefully they do the same for you and replace it with OEM glass.
Today the glass is holding strong and I have no issues.
I second this. I would love an oil temp gauge in that space. You would have a customer in me if you can make that happen.

Have you considered mud flaps? I never planned on installing them, however shortly into ownership, I installed the OEM ones and it made all the difference with the tire spray.
