I can't help but be amused at this thread. Folks who find fault with the ITS shifter are spending too much time feeling for fault rather than driving. Nothing is perfect, including this shifter, but it's plenty good. Drive and enjoy.
Ah yes, the guy who goes on car forums to tell people to leave their cars stock and not modify anything.

Don't worry, all stock here! Don't see any car mods for miles. Better check the forum over, hear that one's full of car mods!

....

Okay guys, I think he's gone.

I just drove the SHIT out of my car on some back roads. Trust me, I may be on a thread about shifter upgrades and spend a lot of time thinking about mods but I'm also slapping the shifter off the Type S surround like you wouldn't believe a few times a week.

Drive and mod your cars folks šŸ˜Ž

I find it weird when people act this way on forums. I don't understand the premise of thinking your beliefs are more "true" than anyone else's.

So weird.

Ok update time! I got the Acuity Stage 3 shifter a day early so I just installed it. net-net it's an improvement, but - to me at least - it isn't mind blowing. Like it's definitely not as much of a change as when I installed an Auto Solutions SSK in my M2cs back in the day. Now, this is a cable actuated trans and that was fork actuated, so I know it's not a fair comparison. I'm just making the observation.

What's different: I can dial in a higher shifter height without having to accept a longer throw. That is a big plus for me for comfort as well as track driving. The side-to-side play is not gone, but it's a little reduced, given the shorter gate spacing setup I selected. I like that I can adjust the throw independently in each axis now. The other difference is a much more mechanical feel, with greater felt vibration in the knob (just a little bit more). This I don't really care about, if anything I prefer the OE feel a bit more but it's not a big change.

The main benefit is the adjustability, IMO. I wouldn't bother with going from Stage 2 to Stage 3 if you are happy with the shifter position, and throw. While I didn't have the Stage 2 myself, given the moderate change in feel from OE to Stage 3, I can't imagine it being much of a leap in feel.

As always YMMV. My opinions only. Settle down. :p

Good point of clarification. Just felt vibration. No noise increase. And it's miniscule.

One man's NVH is another man's "engaging feeling" or whatever you want to call it.

I’m adding the following items to my Hybrid Racing shifter this weekend just to crispen the entire shifter assembly. I’ll report back once installed.

- Hybrid Racing Shifter Cable Bushings
- Hybrid Racing Shifter Base Bushings
- Hybrid Racing "Heavy Duty" Transmission Detent Springs

Have you ever finished this install? I personally have almost the same mods, just different brands, and I find the shifter way too stiff and brutally hard to enter reverse. I'm thinking of undoing the Hybrid Detent Springs.

You're the second person I’ve heard say that about the detent springs when matched with an aftermarket shifter and cable bushings.

I haven’t installed the detent springs yet. I will be doing the base bushings for sure tomorrow or sometime this week.

Do you happen to know where the other post was? I think the detent springs by themselves were a good balance, very mechanical feeling. After adding the shifter cable bushings, the gears were not too bad, but the reverse is unbearable.

Please post up your results here too, after you install the detent springs.

Also, from hybrids website, it seems the detent springs will only affect the throw play while the "gear selector springs" kit affects the gate play.

I'm hesitant to change either of these out until I hear from a trustworthy source that the play is meaningfully reduced by installing these. Thanks!

It was a comment I saw while watching a few install videos on YouTube.

Nevermind... They're cheap. I bought em and I will report back. I might just install one of them: whichever controls the lateral detent.

Just installed this Billetworkz beauty. 500g. It really smooths up the shifts dramatically, and looks gorgeous. Keeping the leather Honda knob as a backup for extreme weather.

One of the mini crown bottle bags makes a perfect shift knob cover for blazing hot summers. I love the little 375ml bottles for sizing.
