I replaced some gold foil on the intake and charge pipe today. I had some cheap stuff before and the heat was making it brittle and lose color so I went to the pricier stuff. I'll add on more in a few places later (bought about 300$ of the stuff and used about 170$ worth so far), but it's at a diminishing returns level. The hood addition is new with removing the engine insulator. This will help pull more heat and keep the hood from cooking. On track the foil helps keep iat down quite a bit. The turbo blanket also helps a ton. My iat stay within 20F of ambient on track when about 75F out.

Also shot of the turbo below. For anyone wondering whether the stock intake is a flow restriction, I refer you to the surface area of the turbo inlet. At about 45mm stepped down from 56mm, I don't see any reason the factory intake would restrict anything for this turbo.

I bought a giant copper washer kit years ago off Amazon, and it comes in handy all the time. I highly recommend getting a copper or aluminum kit and calling it set for any little thing that pops up. Once you have it, it's indispensable.

I am not. I do have a couple of NOCO trickle chargers but I dont think those are strong enough? What brand do you have?

Well fuck

mine is a noco. The cheapest one on amazon iirc

do this. Go drive like 4-5 miles. Come back. Turn her off. Slap on the Noco and start flashing. The drive should’ve topped the battery off some

I wouldn't be worried; however, a battery charger or tender is a best practice. I've performed ECU flashes with and without battery support. I've also flashed a map after the car has been sitting for three weeks (no tender). I guess I live life on the edge πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

You are WILD for that LOL. The ECU in these cars is pretty sensitive to battery voltage, so I wouldn't play with fire personally, though I'm glad it worked, and I'm sure plenty of people do it with no issue. I can't believe you were able to do it after sitting for three weeks 🀣. I had to let mine sit on my tender for a bit and reinsert my flashpro because it was in a low voltage protection mode (very slight voltage drop, kinda dumb) after like a week.

I have GPS on the car now so there's zero chance I would do it again since they are well known for parasitic battery drain. Since install, if I'm not driving the car it's on a tender.

That’s brave πŸ˜‚

on my Subarus. I had this battery jump start pack thingy but it had a trickle mode. Never left home without it if I was taking the accessport to the track

I did another thing. Couldn't stand the size of the gap anymore. I added this gasket to complete it around. I'm really not sure why acura left it off. The mounting tabs and slots for a gasket are literally there, they just didn't put it in. Sealing this helps aero, cooling, and no more ugly blue cap.
