Bingo!Verdict so far: I noticed a more responsive throttle pedal, by a noticeable amount. Noise hasn't increased by that much, but I was already running the silicone hoses which did increase noise over the OE corrugated plastic ones so I imagine this upgrade would make more noise over bone stock.
Having a titanium inlet instead of aluminum was my main reason for the change, given how much lower Ti's thermal conductivity is vs Al. The throttle sensitivity improvement was a bonus I wasn't expecting!
The blanket and gold foil helped for me. Eventuri makes a carbon pipe that replaces the aluminum elbow as well, which is why I was considering it.
You're spot on that Ti is way better at resisting heat transfer than aluminum. Glad to hear it worked well! I'm considering it as well, but I'll probably still wrap it in gold
