I recently went to a local Acura dealer to check out the tupS vs an ASpec Tech. Switching between cars I noticed that the type S seat cushion felt very “flat” and not as comfortable as the ASpec. Anyone else notice this? I had a 2017 Civic Touring which had the same issue, so bought a small gel seat cover. Maybe it’s just my old bitt that’s lost cushion?

The bottom seat cushion on the drivers side is fairly stiff. Oddly enough, the passengers side is much more supple.

I wonder if you could swap seat bottoms.

No, you can't swap seat bottoms.

Integra Aspec and TypeS are two completely different types of cars aimed at two different types of drivers. They shouldn't be compared. The typeS is an all out performance car, it is not intended for luxuries or comfort. The Aspec (especially with tech package) is intended as a balanced luxury-ish, economy, sporty car.

If concerned with comfort, don't shop race cars.

Adjust your position. I had mine setup like the suv I moved from. I'm a lower driver oriented position & it is much more comfortable.

Agreed. I kept adjusting the seat until I found a good position. I think mine’s lowered all the way down, the least lumbar support, and the end raised a bit for leg support. These still aren’t my favorite seats, but spending time to find the best position is worth it.

Product designers likely designed the driver's seat to be stiffer so that it would stay in good shape over time since it gets much more use. I do feel like mine has broken in a little bit after 2 years now.

i find the seats okay. honestly i still haven't been on any sort of long drives yet- i don't think ive even taken the car out for a whole hour's drive (not counting traffic). ive had it for over 2 years now and still have under 15K miles. i will say that i traded up from a 9th gen Si and the seats in the ITS are loads better. after an hour or so in my Si my back would really start aching lol. i haven't gotten that yet in the ITS but as ive already said i tend to avoid long drives anyway

The seats in the Type S are a clear and obvious missed opportunity. A slightly deviated version of the FL5 seats would have been amazing, even as an option- But that said, they're not really a disappointment in my mind, because I've always felt that they DO THEIR JOB very well.

Other than the one track experience I've had, I haven't felt like I wasn't secure enough in the seat. It's not a problem with autocross, and it's not bad enough to be a significant distraction even on track (but there is tons of room for improvement...).

They may not feel obviously comfortable when you first sit in them, but to my experience they are some of the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in from a practical perspective. I don't notice them being uncomfortable. I think that's the biggest compliment you can provide to these seats- you sit in them, and they don't bother you. That alone is pretty significant.

But no, they're not going to win any awards with how they look, and they're not going to blow your mind when you sit in them the first time.

Lumbar support FTW.
