ITS Seats - Comfy? Lumbar?

Hate to create a thread for this but I also hate to invade someone else's review thread so here it goes.

How would you rate the seats and specifically the lumbar? I know the bolstering isn't as strong as a Type R but is the lumbar decent? I have some l4/l5 issues that are slowly getting better but now I'm at that point where I question whether a Type R style seat would be reasonable for me and some people have complained that the FL5 seats are worse than the FK8 seats, so an FL5 is probably out of question for me. So an ITS is probably a good option depending on the seats.

I had an FK8 at one point and found the side bolstering great for my upper back and the seats comfortable in general. Would make 6 hour+ road trips for work frequently. Ended up selling it due to other reasons (wanting a big grocery getter + something the kid could climb into and damage that I wouldn't care about), but now I'm wanting a fun weekend car and I think an ITS is probably the best option.

My L4 and L5 region is banged up too. There’s a word for it but I can’t even pronounce it

also have compartment syndrome in both legs

fl5 seats were a no go and I also owned a fk8 long ago. I could do the seats for about 30-45 minutes before things started getting sore

the de5 seats are very kind and will shock you with how well they keep U in the seats. Between the bolsters and the grippy material. U won’t go anywhere.

The bolsters are definitely lacking compared to FL5 seats, but compared to any other seat in any other car, they're still good. They're better than the "Comfort" seats in my S550 were. Like the reply above said, the suede material holds you in fairly well on its own. The adjustable lumbar support is also a huge plus (up/down and in/out).

I have taken a lot of 10 hour trips in my ITS. The lumbar is great. The only thing that happens to me on those drives is my ass gets sore somewhere around hour 7 or so. But a 10-15 minute fuel / stretch and I’m good to go.

Interesting fact. I can survive over an hour in the its and autobahn GTI seats. But the s5 seats hurt a little till I turn on the massage thing

Lumbar is great in the ITS. 2 track days and no real issue with bolstering/sliding around. I also have lower back issues and they are plenty adjustable and comfortable for long trips.

This may not work for you if you need lumbar support, but on my most recent track day at Sebring (notoriously bumpy track) I found that by decreasing the lumbar support to its minimum I effectively increased the side bolstering (because the back sinks further into the seats).

Appreciate all the responses. My issues aren't as bad as many others, but if I don't have ANY lumbar support my back will get irritated after an hour. This thing having up/down and in/out is big. I need to go sit in one now and commit to it. Miss having a fun car.

Don't know about you all, but I'm having loads of fun tracking my Type S.

I find the seat bottom offers little cushioning not economy airline bad but not good either. The lumbar support just pushes against your lower back no comfort found. The side bolsters are not too aggressive making entering and exiting a little easier.
On longer trips, one hour plus, I find myself squirming around trying to get comfortable. I also suffer with a ruptured L5 and sciatica.
But I love the shifter in the ITS and pain is temporary, glory is forever.

The seats are as good on my back as any car I've ever owned. I don't have any diagnosed back problems.

From a pure comfort perspective, they're ok. Not bad, but not great.

For the track, they're not good. I understand it sounds like I'm some sort of "track snob" but I question how hard people push the car if they don't find any issues with the seats on track. They hold up to autocross for the most part, but it was an annoying distraction on track, feeling like I had to brace with my knee far too often. I know I do it with autocross too but like I said- not as much of a deal. I will have to upgrade the seats to Bride or Recaro if I decide to get out to the track more often.

TL;DR, unless you track regularly, the seats are good.

I have back issues that happened after purchase of the ITS, my STI would cause my lower back to be sore after 45 minute drive. I replaced the driver seat with a Sparco SPX an that seat was amazing. The ITS isn't bad, have lumbar adjusted an only get a little warm in the seat but personally find it comfortable and not .making my back issues any worse
