Throaty is a good way to describe it. It feels louder but also a lot deeper in pitch. My wife said she likes it because it isn't as "harsh" as my previous car, which was a resonator deleted S550 5.0.

I got lucky and it was relatively mild. I went a few years ago on a holiday weekend and it was packed. Seems like very early or late in the year are the times to go

I'll second that post mentioned above. Definitely recommend the step about lubricant to route through the grommet - saved me probably 15-20 minutes compared to doing it on my wife's Mazda a few months prior.
Installed the Acuity shift boot collar upgrade in preparation for an aftermarket shift knob sometime in the future. Also got 20mm spacers, OEM mudguards, and Tuxmats installed recently.
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but does this method with the mirror adapter allow full-time power for parking mode? Or is that only an option through the fuse box?
