Honestly, I think they should have dropped their 5.6 into it. At least the nismo version.I get that but a hair extra negative camber goes down well on the Supra. I assume the same on the z?
but yeah. Options are good at least. Honestly I’d do (and probably regret) an nd3 before a z
I personally liked the 370 too. That second throttle body went farand the manual felt decent and was only a couple dollars away from feeling like a great manual.
I actually understand their choice of motor. There must’ve been tons of pressure to go with a boosted power plant. Would’ve been great to see an updated 3.7.
Actually, the supra is limited to around -3 up front and typically with camber plates. That reduces compliance overall and you need coils to get more room.
The z just takes upper control arms and then you can adjust to your hearts content. Because of the design it also takes the camber further because it doesn't increase towards positive like mcstrut.
Both platforms setup with identical prep and near equal power to weight, I think it would be a fair and close fight. I suspect the z would need to be driven "with a bit of anger" and the the supra would be more "scalpel like". Driver style would probably make the difference on preference.
