Sir, this car has limited payload capacity. Weight plays a big role here. 😉

The performance metrics, particularly in the handling department, contradict your attempt to downplay the sporty capabilities of this platform. 😘
It's a great car for a dolled up civic, but there are too many doors 🤔 and the power goes to the wrong wheels. 🥱 Y'know, basic sports car stuff. 🥰

2025 Integra Type S - Liquid Carbon
- Punishing ride for passengers. The road noise and stiffness (even in Comfort) is jarring, especially for backseat passengers. Sport Plus is teeth chattering. I have had many people ride in my car in the passenger seat with no complaints. Sport plus does remind me of the STi days though and will definitely agree with that. I wouldn't call it teeth chattering but it is aggressive.

- Useless washer fluid spray. Absolutely stupid design that does not clean the windshield. Agree with this. It doesn't work very well.

- infotainment. Android Auto failed twice, to the point that it required a Factory Reset of the infotainment for it to work again. This also meant losing all my other vehicle settings. The ambient lighting color can't be changed. The screen is low quality. The ELS system in here is not comparable to ELS in other Acura products we've owned. It's lower quality and sound. My Android Auto disconnects constantly but only on some of my trips. Drove 260 miles this weekend with it working flawlessly and then the next day drove 8 miles and it happened about 10 times.

- Very small gas tank. The good MPGs are negated by a tiny tank that requires refilling at the frequency of a lower MPG vehicle with a larger tank. Will also agree with this. The gas tank is too small in this car.

- Cheap seats in a decently high performance car is disappointing. Seats neither hold me in particularly well nor are comfortable for long drives. I think the seats are relatively comfy but they do lose a little bit of luster on longer drives.

- Blind Spot Monitor is poorly calibrated. The warning light stays illuminated beyond a reasonable distance. It makes you second guess is a vehicle has truly snuck up, when in most cases there is an enormous amount is space to move over. Never really had any issues like this. I have heard it beep sometimes but usually its not super far off.

- Amenities, lack of. No memory seats between two frequent drivers gets old quickly. No rear air vents. No Homelink. I am the only one that drives mine. So no issue there for memory seats. I don't normally have rear passengers so this also never bothered me. Homelink at first was an issue but I put my clicker in my car and for some reason it does not bother me this time.

I agree with a lot of what some of the others say. You have to have known most of these going into buying this car. I have been in this same spot though. I had bought a 2020 BMW X3M Competition from an RS3 as I thought having more space would be a good thing and absolutely hated it. So I can understand smaller things getting to you and wanting to move on.
I like the car and think it is fun but I move on relatively quickly on cars. Assuming this car will be some of the same but we will see.

So wait, do you have a Type S or not? That's an important detail, because I thought similarly when I bought the car. I kept telling myself it was a compromise and I'd get a "real" sports car later. 2 years later and I no longer feel the same way.

This car is absolutely, 100% a sports car. I could get into why I "changed my mind" but suffice to say that the "real" sports car I'm currently zeroed in on to complement my ITS as a daily is now a DC2 Type R.

Interesting how we perceive things differently. I actually purchased a 2025 type S as my daily driver. I also have a 2025 Z4 M40i w/ manual tranny. That is my weekend car. The driving experiences are vastly different between these two cars. Mainly FWD vs RWD. I am slowing getting used to FWD.

As I was researching for a daily driver that is engaging, fun, and has room for my golf equipment this Type S fits the bill. Yes, I agreed with others that most of the items should have been included with this car, but lacking them to me is not a deal breaking

A homelink mirror would have been nice, but one can get an aftermarket remote control garage opener for around $35. I can open and close my garage door via voice control, or simply push a button on my phone.

I found "comfort" totally livable as a daily driver. You have no idea what a rough ride is until you driven a M car without adaptive suspension. My 2021 M2 Competition literally beat me up just going down the road. I would never buy any BMW sport cars without adaptive suspension.

The seats in this car IMHO should have better support. The Apple Car Play is working better than average compares to my other vehicles. The only other wish I have in this car is AWD. Of well, can't have it all!

Yeah we've all heard your story, but for those who haven't maybe you can share another excerpt from your book.

VW managed to fit a bigger tank in the Golf R (also not a sports car) along with a rear diff. I'm simply laughing at the idea that Acura did anything more than parts bin engineering with this thing.

You forgot no spare tire!

Agree on most of these compromises but if you want a sporty car with a Manual transmission that can carry adult passengers in the rear seat your choice is extremely limited.
CTS V soon to be discontinued
BMW M $$$ more then Type S & R

A brand new 25' Integra Type S in Apex Blue, I drove off the lot just 6 months ago, last week was picked up by Carvana. It had 5K on the odometer.

I really wanted to like it. The motor, trans, and handling are all exceptional. Short gearing, smooth shifting, and enough power to have fun. Braking feel and power is top notch. The best part is it looks absolutely stunning, especially in blue.

But a comfortable car to live with daily, it is not. There are a lot small things that add up to be a whole lot of compromises. These are things that just simply worked in previous cars.

- Punishing ride for passengers. The road noise and stiffness (even in Comfort) is jarring, especially for backseat passengers. Sport Plus is teeth chattering.

- Useless washer fluid spray. Absolutely stupid design that does not clean the windshield.

- Amenities, lack of. No memory seats between two frequent drivers gets old quickly. No rear air vents. No Homelink.

For us, it was just too many compromises. It was too far of a departure from what we're used.
If you're used to your Lexus or BMW products, or even just high trim level Honda and Toyota products, I think you'll find you agree with some points.

There were two other Apex Blue DE5s on Carvana with under 8K miles. There will soon be 3!

I posted this review on an FB page for DE5s, but it got deleted. Leaving it here incase it helps others.

I mean doing some research before you buy a car would’ve saved you the trouble.

But seriously, you’re complaining about the ride quality being “absolutely jarring”??

I dont even know if were talking about the same car, let alone a sports car.

So you don't actually own a Type S?

edit- sorry, I should have been more attentive.

So forgive me for pretty much completely dismissing the opinion of a guy who's spent enough on his A-spec to easily equate to the MSRP of a Type S, yet still laughs about the Type S being "parts bin engineering".

How's that working out for you?

Yep. There's not really much out there if you want a manual.

Too many
I agree with many of these points. If Acura addressed some of the issues, it would be a much better car. Needs more convenience features (memory seats, rear USB, Homelink, etc) to really compete in this class and be what we expect from Acura. The front seats are mediocre and not in keeping with the sporty character or capability of the car. Gas tank is way too small. I also thought road noise is excessive on some surfaces -- there is a reverberation that can be maddening at times.

Overall it's a great sports sedan and maybe one of the best manual trans sports cars on the market, period, but I feel like Acura took it to 90% and ran out of steam. If they could address the few gripes I had, it would be great. Oh yeah, and they also need to work on build quality. Rattles and paint defects were among the worst of any car I've owned in the last ~40 years.

I don’t agree on the suspension being uncomfortable. I think they should have made it a bit tighter myself. I grew up on coilovers with them turned way up. My s2000 is stiff AF makes the ITR feel like a toy.

But the fact is Acura left out so many simple features, features a luxury band should have. No home link! Come on! No back vents makes no sense.

I bought this car to cut down on cost, and have something that is a bit more fun to drive. I’m coming from a German sports car, with all the bells and whistles so while Acura dropped the ball on some features i still think the car is a good car and fun to drive. And it’s kind of nice to have a car without all the fancy things that tend to must the driving experience.

OP, you tried it, found it wasn't for you long term, you moved on.

Minor quip I have is the theme of "But a comfortable car to live with daily, it is not."

you left off 'For me/us'. And that is OK, things also change over time with what you will compromise on in your view.

As for 'parts bin engineering', the 1M would like to have a chat with you. Nothing wrong with dialing it up a bit when executed correctly, and a majority of the work was in the suspension.

The S is is a wonderful handling sports sedan, its not even a debate. If you prioritize creature comforts and prefer something from zee germans thats an option with no manual tranny. The other trade off is cost, quite a bit of it when looking at say a 3 series to cross shop.

We have both in the stable, 24 Type S, 25 M340.

My daily is the Type S.
