Moved it outside so I had more room. Detailed my wife’s s5 interior.

Finished in about an hour. I always leave the drivers side area last. Cuz those cosmetics and lotion and god knows what. Takes a while to clean off! Took another hour just to handle that damn steering wheel and drivers seat

bath and body works has their Halloween stuff out for some reason. Bought a bunch of the vampire blood air fresheners my wife likes. It’s like a sprite x cherry smell. But artificial cherry not natural cherry type scent. It smells good.
Knocked out the glass and said f washing it for the day.

Sounds like exactly what I’m going for. Around 350 to the wheels and still using stock cooling for now.
What kinda insulation and reflection did you do?
If you look further up this thread you'll see photos.

I put a turbo blanket on the turbo and still put the oem heatshield back on (minus one bolt the blanket hides) which helped a ton with heat and throttle response, gold foil on the intake inlet above the turbo (big difference there too), gold foil on the charge pipe by the engine block, removed the hood insulation and rain catch on the louvre and added gold foil to the hood where the insulation was. I also added water wetter which doesn't drastically lower temps but it does equalize temps across the head to prevent any sort of spiking. I also recently sealed the hood properly with a stick on gasket. All. Of this helps both heat management and aero. It's about 200$ in gold foil, but don't skimp and buy cheap junk... Dei stuff is rated for correct heat range and knockoff stuff is certainly not.

At peak on track I've seen 20F over ambient iat 15-17min in but that's with sustained wot on complex tracks and pushing 130mph+. That's really solid regardless, but the fact everything stays cool overall is fantastic. I'll keep running it like this for now and see how it goes over time, but I see no need to change anything currently.

I've got a friend trying to setup a ride along event where he wants me driving for about 5 hrs straight with only 5-10 min breaks for fuel/water/change passenger in early fall. That will be a really interesting test to see how it goes. I should be able to run about 150 laps in a day, at the expense of a set of tires, 2 sets of rear brakes, and a set of front brakes. Should be a great test.

I’ll look for that previous post. I think I read it a while ago but didn’t put it together with your username.
I have been considering running it at Hallett which is fairly close to me.
I think I will copy what you did and see how that goes.
And yeah 150 laps in a day sounds like a really good time!!

Hey I go to hallet all the time!! Love hallet so much!

I wrecked there 🤣. Hello tire wall at 40mph...
Still love it.

Ran a 1.29 as my pb in the its bone stock and with a potenza race tire in the damp-wet. With the crs and dry weather I'm confident I could touch some 1.23s there. I ran 1.21s in my 370z racecar there on a toyo rr (shitty slick). I'm rebuilding that car currently and I'll have it back out at hallet next year on a Hoosier aiming for 1.19s if I can get there!!

Hallet is amazing! Treat it with absolute respect in the wet, especially leading up to the bitch.

NASA MidAmerica runs the summer hallet event now instead of Texas, so I'll be running the DE2 classroom again next year. You should come out to oir sometime. It's a bit of a drive from Tulsa area but not bad at all.

I know quite a few legends cars for sale. They're cool. Unless you're planning on doing 6+ weekends per year and getting serious about harnesses/safety so you're pulling airbags the its does great. With the alignment pins pulled you get corvette/Porsche/bmw level camber and it's very competent. Last year I was the fastest in the de4 group at hallet, and this year I ran on pole in the wet in time trials (with added camber and light tuning otherwise stock). It's a capable car.

Kevin from Hondata has grown frustrated with me

my primary care doctor has asked me to stop making fun of her colleague (the podiatrist) while assuring me he does not have a foot fetish

I continue to get bored and make it everyone’s problem. Gonna call Kevin again.

Decided to give her a quick wash after finally getting her out of the garage. Been about a week of new parts and no ecm. Base tune from Brian at JST all loaded up and ready to do the datalogs. Gotta be fresh

How much foil did you use for the hood?
