You could try Ebay to find a Type R armrest or civic armrest that fits. I haven't confirmed, but the stock leather arm rest cover does come off, but I'm not sure it fits on the Type R lid assembly with proper hinge. If you have seen the post here about the Mikstore kit, you can use the stock hinge, but only two of the four screws fit. I will check here in the next couple days to see if the stock leather armrest cover fits on the Type R one and report back if you are interested in knowing.
That would be great! Getting just the bracket would be a lot cheaper than the whole lid assembly. My goal is to get all the parts before disassembling everything, but I am sure I will forget one screw, making it a two-step process.
I did it this way when I did the AC vent mod and the plastic base and hinge are indeed a direct swap. Just need to undo four screws and gently pry off the pad. I don't think the hinge is available separately without the pad, but a used armrest could save you some money. Like this one where the fabric is a little gross:

Good idea! Maybe I can even find a ripped one and save even more money.

Got the CTR factory LED lights installed, liking the red lighting a lot better. Camera is very generous with the actual lighting, far less bright than pics, still nice nonetheless.

Those LED parts fit all handle and ambient lighting areas for the doors? Think of doing this as well for doors.

Yes, 7 LEDs, two for each door, two for the foot well, and one over the Qi Charger, the one part will take care of all of them, you just need to remove a few of the lenses from the stock LEDs and put it on the red ones.

Well I would say its as snug as OEM, considering the OEM mounting base is used on these mirrors, kinda weird that it would be rattling so bad?!

Yeah it's been like this since new and dealer called it normal. It's one of the various poor dealer experiences I've had with this car.

I believe I've read a few other reports of people having the same issue around here, but it's been a while since I've looked into it. For track use, at 120mph it makes the mirror basically useless. Passenger side stays nice and tight.

I was hoping just a new mirror with the new clips would do it... Blue seemed like a fun way to give it a go.

I have the same issue with mine. Driver side shakes as speed increases, passenger side is good. Haven't figured out if it's the mirror glass or the entire housing that's causing it. But slightly annoying either way.
