They are flow formed wheels made by enkei using their MAT process. Enkei and MAT are stamped on the back of the spokes.Hi guys! Got a question
I was googling and researching earlier today. Are the fl5 and de5 wheels flow formed?
I ask because the wheel weight seems suspiciously light for a 19x9x5
about half of the sources online state they are and the other half say they arenβt with Google ai giving me both options depending on how I phrase the question.
besides the weight being a tip. I also have two more clues that make me believe they are flow formed
1) the edge of the barrel isnβt stamped with a reverse mount warning. Canβt do that on a flow formed barrel
2) in Denver I hit a mega pot hole. Blew out my continental tires in the front. Both of them. Both tires popped right at the sidewall. Yet both wheels didnβt bend at all. On low speed and high speed balancing machine. With new tires on. They balanced perfectly. At s point, front alignment was perfect and including my eyes. 5 sets of eyes have called both wheels βnot bentβ
thnx if U can help!
Conti side wall caps arenβt very robust. This kind of damage guarantees those blow outs and have for years. To be fair to conti I shouldβve been paying attentionMy understanding is they are flow formed.
Weird, I had the exact same thing happen to me and my contis right before Christmas travel! My wheels also look ok.
Oh damn. That settles it then. Iβm familiar with enkeiβs mat stamp. Since the evo daysThey are flow formed wheels made by enkei using their MAT process. Enkei and MAT are stamped on the back of the spokes.
how do you like the RMM? Iβm debating which one to get.Installed the Wunderladen rear motor mount , catch can and WOT cooling plate today. Also the Hps turbo side boost pipe with longer hump hoses...![]()

Definitely agreed, but also that's all part of the plan. There are only two types of Porsche owners- "lifers" who literally keep their cars for life, or serial P car buyers whose average ownership period is between 6-24 months.I've said it before and I said it again... Only ONE manufacturer makes a car that's TRULY track ready out of the box... Porsche. Hate them or like them... They're unboxed and ready and the dealer not only won't yell at you for tracking it, but will probably thank you and give you extra business cards.
