How was the install process? I've read a few accounts of slight modifications needed to fit.
I did see others talk about the issues and I had the same/similar issues. Doesn't seem to like the Acuity reverse flow hoses and/or CSF Radiator and I couldn't use the forward bracket on the underside or that mounting point. Re-using the OEM EPDM coupler presented some challenge as the openings are different sizes and it was tough to fit the smaller side onto the pipe.

Besides that, the rest was smooth and didn't run into any issues with the hood/opening duct seal like others noted. Didn't expect any improvements vs the PRL HVI but the datalogs show is more efficient and likely making more power.

I already foresee It will be a pain to do the transmission fluid fill in the future compared to doing it with the PRL HVI setup.

I greased the inside of the OEM coupler and it made things somewhat better for the install ..........

Swapped my PRL HVI and Turbo Inlet Pipe for Infinity Design matte carbon bits. I didn't like how there were 8 hose clamps and so many joints with the PRL setup vs just one joint and 2 clamps. Looks much nicer now too as a plus.

Do you feel any difference in terms of throttle response or power?? I think the manufacturer was claiming a 14 whp increase but that seems hard to believe

Feels pretty similar to the PRL HVI, except now the car is having trouble with traction in 3rd gear from a roll at 2500rpm. I'll need to throw it back on the dyno to see exactly how much the change from PRL to Infinity is in whp. It's definitely flowing more/less restrictive and the boost is up a little bit with the Infinity setup.

Got my car back from my buds detail shop.

- paint correction
- Xpel Clear PPF hood, fenders and front bumper
- Xpel Gloss Black PPF on roof and side-view mirrors
- Xpel ceramic coating

Now she goes back into hibernation until April / May…who knows, Wisconsin sucks.

Next project is having custom Recaro CS seats made for the Type-S. I’ll probably have them in late spring / early summer.

installed schroth quick fit pro harness for ford focus g3. Nice option for those that want a harness without a full roll cage or harness bar.

I referenced these sites while researching:

-CivicX HPDE Harness
-CivicX 4-Point Harness without Bar
-CivicX 4-point harness for track days or more seat security

purchased from evasive motorsports:
-Product Link

really happy with it, I feel glued to the recaro seat. I am aware of and fully accept all risks warned by schroth by using this harness with this seat and this car

If anyone decides to go this route, I have pointers and tips to help with the installation process, which wasn’t too bad but lessons-learned always helps

Ooh I would love to see an installation process on this! I was thinking of doing this at some point because the side bolsters on the stock seats are so shitty.

Is this the harness that behaves like a three point seatbelt in that one of the shoulder straps gives way so your torso can twist a bit? If so, This was recommended to me by one of the track instructors.

I would also like all the details on the install.

Thanks very much!

For the seat or the harness? I didn’t document my progress when installing either, but I can provide a step-by-step walkthrough with pictures if you want.

if you meant just for the harness, here are the instructions from schroth for the ford focus gen3; there are some subtle differences when installing in DE5/FL5 compared to the ford focus, which I can get into if needed:

yes! It’s called ASM by schroth, anti-submarining. The black square patch you see in the rear picture has extra material sewn together that will elongate more than the other side in a crash, allowing the shoulders to subtly turn in a way that prevents submarining or slipping downwards in the seat

here’s a video on it from schroth:

I've used the Schroth four-point anti-sub belts on a track car (many years ago), and wouldn't do it again. Better (IMO) to just drill the floor and do a proper six-point. I think they're fine for autocross, but six-points exist for a reason. If it's just for street driving, never mind.
