I’m sitting on about 7200-7500 miles and my car has already eaten two usb cables. Is this normal?

Both of my cables were usb a to usb c. One was a belkin with the made for iPhone program logo on the packaging. It was purchased at a Verizon store. The other was an actual Apple cable, also bought at that same vzw store

I would love to use wireless CarPlay but I’ve read it’s too unreliable on the type s. I don’t want it to decide to stop working when I need gps. Hence why I’d rather use the cable.

this happening to anyone else?

Been using the wireless since day 1, not one issue... (mine is a early 2024 model)
Shiiiiit I have read the complete opposite when it comes to the fl5 de5 and other Honda products that use our infotainment.

I have read the 2026 infotainment has zero issues it seems. Not sure what they changed there

Aw man. The wireless CarPlay has that slight delay. I thought it would be as responsive as my wife’s car. Dang

went to Best Buy. Got another cable. It’s definitely MFI too. Works fine now

Wireless android auto has been good for me overall, but yeah I find all the electronics a bit laggy and it seems to come and go in spurts. Occasionally my touch to unlock is super slow, and when it is, the rest of the electronics will be slow too. If I restart the car it goes away for a drive or two. The only major issues I've had with wireless AA is that after a period of time it will stop recognizing the phone entirely and you can connect, disconnect, reconnect, restart or anything else and it still won't work. Then the only option is to factory reset the head unit and it suddenly works fine again for 6-12mo or so.

I've noticed Android phones suffer from different issues with Android Auto (wired and wireless). I haven't found any consistent and related concerns yet from owners but I will say that what since changing phones a few months ago, all of my issues I had previously are non existent. I had a OnePlus 8t and it would randomly drop connection even when wired. Sometimes it would happen a few times during a 30 minute drive and sometimes I could make it for hours without issues. I'm using a OnePlus 15 now and it's been flawless.

No issues with cables at all in almost 2 years. Wireless works really well compared with my other cars. I have maybe had 2-3 random disconnects but it connects right back up

Issues with the fl5 is that the Navi eats up all the ram. Once people disable the Navi in settings, it’s responsive again.

Changed the filter for the PRL HVI. I’ve kinda been putting this off because I didn’t want to remove the airbox or the ECU just to change the filter (I bought a second filter so I could swap them out and not have to wait a day or so to clean, dry, and apply oil). The filter was pretty dirty at about 30K miles.

Ended up removing the ECU to access the side door. Overall went well, besides dropping the socket into the engine bay while tightening the hose clamp and couldn’t find it for a while 😆 Also cleaned the MAF sensor.

It will come out without removing the ecu. Have to remove the hose clamp, two front Allen bolts, & then it will rotate up.
I have 2 filters & they get swapped with oil changes.

That was the other option I was considering. Getting all the hoses to fit during install was tough and I didn’t want to deal with that again. Maybe I will try that next time. Either way, they should make a new version where you don’t need to remove a bunch of stuff to change the filter!
