Yes these are from the MDX but they're the same size. The only place you'll run into trouble is the one for the front grill. The locating pins from the MDX badge does not line up with our locating holes. The solution is to break the pins off and do your best to center the badge (it's not difficult).

I have a thread somewhere in the cosmetics sub forum for the p/n of the rear "A" badge also, nothing for the front "A" badge unfortunately.

So, my fender got repaired around this time last year, and it seemed fine but i just noticed last week when i was detailing my car they didn’t put the type s emblem on the fender. So now I’m tore, do get the emblem back on or just take it off the other side.
Which side you guys prefer?

Emblem color/presence is probably the most subjective choice there is on these cars. I find myself thinking the chrome emblems look great on my car sometimes, but then @Victorofhavoc will post a picture that has me second guessing that. It's like picking a wedding ring color. No one really cares but you.

Personally I'm not a fan of the naked look but to each their own.

Case in point, you yourself took a year to notice it was even missing. lol.

Turbo blanket and gold foil went on. Immediately the iat difference is noticeable. Repeat heavy throttle/boost is held in check by roughly 15-20F lower than before. This is keeping the iat under 100F in 85F ambient. Slow stop and go is also not getting into the 130-140F range now. I still need to get it out on track, but this has been a net positive effect so far. Thankfully I was able to get the heat shield back on, except for 1 bolt.

I'll provide some more feedback on feel after a few days of driving it. I don't like to judge feel immediately because the "mod feedback" is usually pretty high .

Initially I'll say it seems to feel more like a cool engine for longer. You know the feeling when you've first started in the morning and it first warms up and you tip into it?.. That immediate boost response... It doesn't feel like it goes away...yet.

Stock it does very poorly in stop and go. I've seen iat at 140F+. Highway cruise at 80mph.and then a dead stop for 2 mins leaves so much heat soak it doesn't want to move until 40mph again.

On track, I edged to 125F by the time it was time to start slowing down to cool off other things anyway. Factory tune, I did 120F in the same sort of conditions. That 5F makes a decent difference. If I can stay under 110F for 15 mins that will be great.

I'm also working on a pro tune. Goal is a tune for street fun, tune for more consistency when lapping, and then specific TT tune. I'm still going back and forth on detune to 270 avg whp and run a slick, or keep on a street tire and do 326 avg whp. We'll see

Did you use the DEI wrap? If so, how much did you end up needing?

Yes, dei. I used half a roll there and barely any on the charge pipe. I keep several rolls of the stuff around because it's usually cheaper in bulk.

I grabbed a torque solutions blanket. The black one.

I intentionally tried to cook it today and was able to get it to 140iat sitting idling in the sun at 90F real feel with 60% humidity. Seems about right. Within a couple seconds of moving the temps started coming down. It doesn't totally solve the heat soaked intake problem, but it does help quite a bit, especially when moving. Next step for me will be replacing the intake tube with a different material and wrapping that as well. Then we'll go from there.

I went ahead and ordered a roll of DEI material, as well as a Funk Motorsports turbo blanket. I have more faith in their products than others on the market.

Helpful tip, even if using springs, wrap some wire around the lower posts and then run them underneath to pull up from behind. Then it's fairly easy to pull them out and pull the spring from there (or tighten wire). It's a tight area to work around, unless you want to just pull the turbo.
