I got new vapor barriers and adhesive, but CCF seems like a much-much easier approach, so I’m not sure which way to go.

Personally I'm happy with my approach (kilmat in tactile and resonant areas, ccf blanketing everything).

The ccf is technically waterproof so it can act as a vapor barrier, but the challenge in this door is treating it like one. You could theoretically use some weak double sided tape to stick on the new vapor barrier and cover with the ccf, so that removing it keeps the lower barrier in tact.

Ccf will cut the volume. The butyl cuts the resonance and greatly improves tactile feel, but used as a blanket it also cuts volume, but just isn't as effective as the foam at it.

Different targets. What's your goal?

This would be very useful on track where disabling vsa blocks almost all useful info in the dash and the center screen is largely useless. Honda not having the data directly displayed in the center screen is just sooooo 2008

I honestly don’t think CCF will reduce much volume. My goal in using it is to decouple surfaces and reduce vibrations/noises/rattles that way.

CDL was used for vibration/damping.

Ccf does reduce volume, but it specifically is for the higher frequencies, isolation from sealing small gaps, and panel on panel vibration. It's only effective when you blanket things with it, no holes.

Cld is effective for dampening. You want it on the thin metal surfaces that echo when you knock on them. Most effective use case is about 30% coverage. Some panels might be fine with only 25% and some need a much as 50%, but beyond that it's a lot of wasted weight vs the ccf. Ideally you blanket the 30% butyl with 100% ccf for the full effect.

If you really want to silence everything... There is a way and it comes at a cost. Mass loaded vinyl is the most effective and it's exactly what it says... Adding mass. No sound will really penetrate it once it blankets a surface, but for the integra you'd add roughly 200lbs of the stuff for full effect. Then the next step further is to replace the glass with properly sound insulated stuff and seal the small gaps around the mirror and A pillar.

I'm not sure about that... CCF doesn’t really absorb much sound. it’s more for decoupling and preventing panel-to-panel vibrations. it might help a bit with blocking some higher frequencies, but I’d expect little to no difference in road noise. should help with panel vibration though.

The butyl did more for panel vibrations than Ccf in my case. Butyl killed the hatch boom and road grumble by 70%. It killed all the door tinniness. Ccf killed pretty much everything else except for wind noise at the windows. Can't really cover those . My stock exhaust in comfort i couldn't hear over the radio at volume 4.

The front doors already have Ccf built into the vapor barrier. It tears very easily if you stick more Ccf on it. I believe the challenge in using just Ccf alone would be that you'd need a big sheet and to cutout the shape of the hole on the door from either the backing or another material to prevent it from being tacky. Bonus points for an extra layer of the Ccf I guess! It's doable, but given the nature of the Ccf I personally think it might be more effort than it's worth. I'd recommend layering on top of the vapor barrier, but I would remove the butyl-alternative sealant or use a fresh barrier so that when you remove the Ccf for any service, you don't tear that barrier (or when reinstalling the door card).

absolutely not, both inside the doors and the door cards are already done (CDL+CCF but not 100% coverage), I completely removed the factory vapor barriers though (have replacements), which is why I’m trying to decide what to do next.

Ohhh, that makes sense now. Nice. I'd go inside the door and put a layer on. Skip the layer on top of the vapor barrier since it will tear it the moment you try to remove it. Servicability mindset.
