    well, both the vapor barrier and the cff are basically single use anyway, in that regard both options are equal. I know, I know, I’m probably overthinking this and either approach is okay I guess....

    absolutely not, both inside the doors and the door cards are already done (CDL+CCF but not 100% coverage), I completely removed the factory vapor barriers though (have replacements), which is why I’m trying to decide what to do next.

    I'm not sure about that... CCF doesn’t really absorb much sound. it’s more for decoupling and preventing panel-to-panel vibrations. it might help a bit with blocking some higher frequencies, but I’d expect little to no difference in road noise. should help with panel vibration though. that...

    I honestly don’t think CCF will reduce much volume. My goal in using it is to decouple surfaces and reduce vibrations/noises/rattles that way. CDL was used for vibration/damping.

    I got new vapor barriers and adhesive, but CCF seems like a much-much easier approach, so I’m not sure which way to go.

    That makes sense. I'm just not sure how much difference it would make, especially on a new car, but applying it directly to the metal does sound more effective. btw, are you planning to add some foam like material on top?
