Hi,

Sharing my personal experience with Synth Carbon.

I purchased and installed Integra Carbon Fiber OEM Style Mirror Caps in mid 2024. I recently noticed an issue with my right (passenger) mirror cap - the layers got separated (see photos). I contacted their support, and was not happy with how they handled the case.

Their support response was:
- 6 months warranty passed.
- They made design improvements with new mirror caps.
- Offered me a 15% off coupon to purchase a new set of mirror caps.

From my view:
- The product failed under normal, well-protected conditions: my car is consistently garaged and is not exposed to prolonged sunlight.
- I have other carbon fiber components (spoiler, hood vent, steering-wheel trim and dashboard overlays) from other manufacturers, and I have no issues.
- I would expect them to replace the right cap (to clarify, the left / driver mirror cap is fine). Warranty normally covers ordinary wear and tear. To me it's a clear design defect and should be owned by the company.

I cannot speak to their other products or other people experience.

it clearly states 6 month warranty against manufacturer defects. 😂

I can read and as I said I am not disputing what’s written.

Do you really buy products for your car based on warranty duration or based on products quality and manufacturer reputation?
If I saw such a post before buying I would really consider other places.

True, and you're right, OP doesn't have much recourse since it's explicitly stated.

Still...I think most of us would expect this sort of thing to have better longevity than it did and I still appreciate OP making a post about it so we know which vendors/products to avoid.

Well, where the warranty stops word of mouth begins. Hopefully they can appreciate the impact the sharing of this quality issue will have once communicated more broadly. It may be in their best interest to offer a replacement as negative experiences with quality do tend to carry more weight than most other issues.

Did you use a 2K clear uv resistant paint? I can tell you most of the lower priced cf parts dont have adequate uv protection. a little sanding with 800 grit and 2-4 coats of clear will double the lifespan.

I had PPF plus the car is garaged.
Synth advertise:
"High Gloss UV-Resistant Clear Coat + 9H Ceramic Coating To Protect And Add A Beautiful Finish"

The defect has nothing to do with UV. See photos how the carbon layer got separated from the plastic cap body. To me it seems like a bad bonding process and/or usage of wrong glue.
