Except for UWU. He's weird.

I like some rear fill, plus I do drive with passengers and I'd like for them to hear music too, so front stage+sub isn't really my jam. A well-designed surround-capable system is what I like.Do you like rear fill or are you a front stage + subwoofer only kind of guy? (Asking so I can make a tailored suggestion).
I mean realistically I am fine with the factory EQ and such on most channels, I don't care to get into time alignment for staging and all that, it ruins the sound for my passengers and can be too fiddly with exact head placement in my experiences. I just like balanced sound with solid impact, ample bass, a hint of sparkle up top, and lots of headroom. I don't care for presets and all that either. I'm still contemplating the module you do produce, to match it up with a Helix DSP/amp combo sort of deal, relatively simple system. I don't want or need anything fancy in my daily driver, it's bound to get banged up and used so a bulky system and 200lbs of deadening is not for me whatsoever, I prefer easy and light.I still think you're thinking about this the wrong way (respectfully). Sure, you could do all the reverse engineering you just described but it would be more work than an aftermarket DSP solution and it would still sound worse thanks to an inferior DAC implementation vs any of the easily obtainable common DSP brands. And you wouldn't have the flexible tuning ability of the DSP, plus time alignment, various filter adjustments, preset capability, and more.
Really too bad the factory EQ is just a 3 band applied to the system as a whole. I'd love some per channel control. I think the center is way too prominent. (Also worth noting, if you set the system to "rear only", you may be surprised how little it's doing.)I like some rear fill, plus I do drive with passengers and I'd like for them to hear music too, so front stage+sub isn't really my jam. Either way, there are options!
Now that I'm reading back through this thread, I would be interested in a sacrificial "extension" harness that could be tapped into and cut / tee-d off as needed, plugged in between the stock wiring and the Bose amp, for my 2026 Si since I would love to add a subwoofer and something compact like a Kicker Key amp for the front stage.I'm curious - who here would be interested in a complete T harness for full system integration (specifically analog speaker level input, not pure digital conversion like I'm doing)? This harness would enable intercepting every independent OEM channel into your DSP/amplifier.
Building the harness is a pretty involved procedure since the output plug on the ELS amplifier is so new that there is only a board-mount connector available, rather than the much easier to assemble cable-style plug.
LMAO! Helluv an intro to the thread - I dig it!hold up I leave the forums for a fewand some genius comes up in here and creates an AMP REPLACEMENT INTERFACE?
Can I use this with an AudioControl DSP?
Yeah I have a Type S!LMAO! Helluv an intro to the thread - I dig it!
Two things: do you have the ELS system in your Teggy? It's a requirement for this to work as the non-ELS has no external amp.
Second - the Audiocontrol DSPs will work with a big caveat - they do not have signal ducking capability so when you get chimes or nav voice responses the DSP won't properly attenuate any music that is playing (temporarily) like the newer generations of DSPs from Arc Audio, Helix and Audison can do.
It's up to you whether you're ok with that compromise or not. I do not recommend Audiocontrol on my website specifically for this reason.
If that's a key feature for you to have, then you should look into a DSP amp upgrade, unfortunately.
