Hi all, looking to buy a 2026 ITS soonish, but it feels like there's much less 2026 inventory than there was last year for 2025 cars? Is there any truth to this or am I just misremembering how much inventory there was in previous years? Is there any indication that the 2026 will be the last model year?

A quick search at the dealerships around me showed four available. Seems about the same as last year. There was a time, I think in the spring/summer, where there were more available. Not sure if it’ll be the last year. Since HRC is reportedly making parts for the ITS, maybe it’s here to stay? You could talk to the dealers and see what they have coming in. That’s what I did and got mine the day it arrived!

The production as far as I'm aware is much less over the winter. Example the Canadian market has no deliveries between December and March and that's because of the PS4 tires.

If you got one now I think it's SN would probably be a pretty low #. Got an Aspec in Oct 2024 and all the ones they had on the lot were. They've probably only made a few deliveries of new model year vehicles to each dealer, and I think the next round comes Feb/March.

Sounds like a screw up they're having to deal with, not standard practice. I know I got mine November 17th 2023 and it was according to the dealership the last batch before spring.

I don't want to scare you but check over the tires carefully when taking delivery, the PS4 come with instructions from Michelin to not drive on the tire under 4 degrees celsius. Unless you are in Vancouver, the likelihood is that they will be moving it in sub zero temperatures.

Hopefully everything will work out and Christmas will come early for you.

I am in Vancouver but am planning on switching getting the copper wheels and putting winters on the grey ones when I get the car

I was told by dealers in Calgary and Saskatoon that they expect mid/late December. On the list for both so when either come in I’m snagging it.

I would not recommend driving on the PS4S if there is snow or ice (may as well be rolling on eel snot), but if the roads are dry and you just need to drive the car home from the dealer, it will be fine. Ask the dealer to keep the car indoors the night before so the tires start out at room temperature, and then make a continuous drive home with no extended stops. The tires will not have a chance to get cold enough to be a concern.

I run the PS4S on three different sports cars year round here and have run them on other cars since 2017 or so. While I tend to not drive these cars when it's really cold, I will periodically drive on the tires if it's a nice clear day with temps in the 30-35F range or higher. Starting out at 55F (temp of my car barn) the tires maintain that initial temp and usually warm up further while driving (per the tire temp sensors on my BMW).

Years ago someone asked about this on another forum I was on, and got similar info from a Michelin engineer, which was good confirmation of my experience. Should apply to any summer tire.

I looked into this some last year. Based on the info I could gather from Michelin, the 40 degree warning is based on diminished traction from the summer performance compound. If you pay attention, you should be fine at that temp. Where it becomes a greater issue is around 20 degrees. Apparently, that is where the compound begins to break down to the point of potentially cracking. They recommend not moving the car at under 20 degrees. It was 40 here yesterday, and I pushed it through a couple of turns I know well, intentionally testing traction. And yes, it broke away earlier than at full warm temp. I was expecting it, so it wasn't a problem, but it's something worth knowing. If I had to guess, I'd say the traction was 75%. It's not like you're on ice, just be mindful of it.
