If not, can we trade? Bought my ITS 2 weeks ago new and ever since, this thing just keeps rattling when engine braking between around 4k to 3k rpms. Is there a fix? Mine is noticeably loud in the cabin even without the windows down. Outrageous.

Otherwise, the car is perfect as long as I keep the tunes on at a certain volume.

Wish I could say my car didn't have the rattle. It sounds like a tambourine when I'm coasting and it's especially noticeable at lower speeds. Must be really loud if you can hear it with the windows up though and I don't know if it's normal for it to be that loud.

VW's 2.0T used in everything back around 2010 had a similar rattle, though I only remember hearing it in a certain part of the rev range while accelerating. VW made a metal retaining clip of sorts that would hold the rattling part tightly enough to stop it from rattling while still allowing it to function as intended.

I think someone around here actually got the clip and was going to see if they could make it work on their car but I don't remember if it worked out.

That said, I'd love for Acura or maybe the aftermarket to see if a solution could be made to resolve this. While it thankfully doesn't seem to be a reliability issue, it is annoying (to some, at least).

If I turn back on rev matching, would it help? Not as familiar with it since I turned it off after 10 miles when noticing it was on from the dealer—wanted a proper engaging/fun drivers car. Maybe when it gets down to the 3-4k rpm range it will pop it to 6k to keep the driver from noticing?

Rev match is fucking awesome. Bang perfect downshifts every time under braking. Our sometimes-perfect heel-toe isn't worth the effort.

"Proper engaging/fun drivers car" can't be had with rev-matching?

And no, the noise will never go away.

Yep, and I never thought that I'd agree. With a long history of heel/toe shifting, I can honestly say that I'm good at it. It's so second nature that I still find myself trying to do it without thinking. I turn it off occasionally just to enjoy the shifting. But, in this car the pedals are not perfectly placed for me, and properly positioning my feet demands some time and energy that isn't necessary.

I do not have the wastegate rattle. No trades, though, lol. 🤷‍♂️

The wastegate flapper linkage is adjustable in some cars, don't know about this one. It is also normal in some cars to have some wastegate rattle when the engine is off boost, as in decelerating. If you only notice it when engine braking, well, brake pads are cheaper than clutches.

The watergate actuator is pretty loose in general, in fact you can feel it and move it around just next to the downpipe under the heat shield if I’m correct. Not a big issue, just how it is but I agree it can be a nuisance when driving in high-revs.

My 2025 ITS has almost 7k miles and started rattling/buzzing around 500 miles ago. Really loud when going slow/coasting in gear. Sound goes away when car is out of gear. Any ideas?

Apparently it’s normal. Just have to live with it.

Glad to hear this since I have no issue heel/toe in my WRX until I noticed the spacing of the pedals a few days in after getting the ITS. I actually recently purchased the Acuity throttle pedal spacer which is supposed to resolve this issue.

But with that said Ive had rev match on and its felt so nice to get consistently effortlessly smooth shifts that I have been dragging ass installing the spacer hahah

Where exactly is this noise youre talking about? The buzzing that I have been experiencing thats been the most annoying I discovered is the plastic shielding that covers the HUD. I plan on getting some thin foam strips to slide in between and dampen the vibration.

I have a similar sound, but in my case it only goes away when I depress the clutch pedal.
