I don't know if many people are aware of the Type R dash in the 11th gen Civic but I adore it. It reminds me of the S2000. I don't even think the Integra Type S has it.

What would it need to be able to implement this onto an a-spec dash? Complete cluster swap?

My bad if I get confused with dash and cluster configurations - I know some people have done some interesting stuff with Raspberry Pi but I'm wondering if someone else has come up with an answer to this?

Someone swapped the FL5 cluster into a DE5 but it required additional supporting components. If I can find the link I’ll share it, but it’s fairly involved and costly (even if you can find the parts used).

Edit: It won't allow me to generate a link to the post on FB, but here are the details:

That would be awesome, thank you!

I wish the ITS has better menu and data options in the dash and infotainment system. Idk why the CTR has so many data screens and so many track focused screens but the ITS doesn’t have anything more that boost psi. I overall like the ITS but there so so many features i think Acura missed on the car, the tech is a big one.

Not to hijack but is there any units that doesn’t require a tune and that plug into the OBD port to have basic info like intake temps, timing etc…?

The tech in this car is miserable.

Biggest oversight is how turning traction control off removes all valuable info and you just get a giant orange dot blinking at you. So you have a choice... Have a taster of info and rear brake pads that last 4-8 sessions on track or have zero data and brakes that don't melt away. Dumb.

Just got my wife an X7... The tech and luxury in the trunk outshines the acura by a mile.

this thread is going to turn into a dumpster fire.

I just came from an M3 and while there not a lot of things I miss about the car (specifically the payments) the one thing i miss is the tech. BMW has Honda beat by probably 4-6 years as far as tech goes. I cannot understand how Acura a ā€œluxuryā€ brand didn’t include a homelink mirror in the Integra. That is just unthinkable, especially when they exist and are used in the accord, they didn’t even need to make new ones.

With all that said i still really like the ITR. I kind of think of it as a throw back car (remove what doesn’t enhance the driving experience)

Completely agree, there is so much to play with in our BMWs. I just hate taking it in for maintenence past the "free" service. They're our low mileage in-city cars. We lease & trade up frequently.
My ITS is my commuter, I plan to only keep it a few years & move on to the next "Honda".

If you google "obd2 accessory dashboard" you'll find a lot of units out there to start researching capabilities of.

The screenshots of the Type R cluster are from +R mode, and there are a couple other graphics styles on the car (just like the Integra) that tie into the driving modes and can be set for Individual mode. It's all done in software, and controlled by a couple computer modules on the vehicle that run the various displays and infotainment. So it's not a simple display swap at all. In fact, the display is probably the dumbest component in the mix. @bisquick posted info on the same swap I know of.

I would think that if the firmware could be updated on the computer modules, there would be many possibilities. But I bet that is locked down tight by Honda.

Imo, what you lose is far worse than what you gain with the Fl5 cluster swap. I could care less about the HUD, but parking sensors and tpms (on low pro tires especially) are very useful.

The best approach here would be for someone to actually spend some time cracking the ecu and multimedia controller to make updates to the registries controlling the displays. It's doable, but no one has taken the time to do it right. On the VAG platform you can add displays from other platform twins or specials if you take the time and use a tool via obd. I added the sq7 displays to my wife's q7 for example. Should be doable on this platform if we could actually get some coding support from a bigger player, but that involves a bit of cash. I've reached out to a couple companies personally and the response I get is "the Honda platform doesn't seem to have the market for it" šŸ˜”.

Shout from the rooftops folks... The more noise made, the more likely someone will come in to give it a go.

I recently saw that the TLX had its HUD updated to be fullscreen along with some other features in it. I know that the 2026 Integra's center console is much faster now too. Perhaps there is some hope that there will be upgrades across all models soon?

You really don't know why the CTR has so many track focused screens and the ITS doesn't? It's obvious, or at least it should be. These vehicles are platform siblings but they diverge when it comes to brand philosophy and market positioning. I thought everyone was clear on this back in 2023. If you're looking for bolstered bucket seats, native datalogging functionality, Cup 2 tires as a dealer option, and track inspired instrumentation, those items will not be in the Integra Type S. The exclusion of these items are not misses, the omissions are intentional.
