Just wanted to give a quick hello as it seems I have stumbled upon owning a car with quite the fan club!
First car - 1993 Saturn SL2, 5-speed. I had a handful of Saturns over the years, bought all used and all were automatic and I missed driving manual. Fast forward some years (still not making a lot) and I picked up a 2015 Dodge Dart 6-speed, new, which I had to drive into the make-ready bay when I bought it because not one employee at that dealership drove stick. The dart in automatic was underwhelming but the manual was a fun little car to drive for the five years that I had it, and it was cheap, which was a huge plus back then. They did put that battery right next to the turbo and I had to replace the battery every 12-18 months, but it was still a fun car to drive on a budget.
I went through a divorce, then to law school, got married to another attorney, and started a law firm together. We impulsively traded in his aging 2012 GMC Acadia Denali on a used 2017 MDX which was our intro into the world of Acura. We later traded in the 2017 MDX on a 2023 MDX Type-S, which we absolutely love and still have. Being a family with only 1 car got harder with us having to be in different places at the same time, so when it came time to add a second car recently, I suggested we look at getting another manual.
My husband likes to get the best that money can buy when he does finally decide to buy something. After driving the MDX type-S for a solid 2 years, we knew we were getting another Acura, so when I suggested another little manual car as our second vehicle, the ITS fit the bill perfectly and we picked up my black-on-black-on-black (black exterior, black interior, black badging) 2025 ITS three weeks ago. Come to find out, everyone seems to love this car and we are happy to be part of the family.
I'm not sure I will heavily mod my ITS as I'm absolutely happy with it stock and it's just going to be my daily driver to work and court. I have already added the Honda Civic Hatchback Snapshades to the rear windows—they stay in place magnetically, which is nice—and I have the carbonio no-drill front license plate bracket ordered so we won't have to drill holes into the front bumper. I may eventually be convinced to add the vent/USB outlets to the back, but that seems like a lot of work when it's mostly going to be just me in the car.
Anyhow, thanks for having me and I look forward to reading up on all the things y'all have to say about this absolutely fantastic car!
