DSC Sport Suspension Module for our cars!

You will be pleased when driving the car aggressively, similarly to driving the car normally on the streets with the DSC. It performs similarly on track. I'm able to hit the curbs/candy striping on track aggressively without upsetting the car. The car absorbs the curbs beautifully and still maintains the stiffness and composure through corners, long high speed sweepers, and hard braking zones. I theoretically shaved almost 4 seconds off my lap times at Buttonwillow, but was unable to get an official time due to being stuck behind traffic and parked cars all day last weekend. Frustrating day at the track that was oversold but the DSC performed exactly like how you'd expect after driving and experiencing it on the street. It's really bridged the gap between stock suspension and coilovers. A good coilover will definitely still outperform it, but having the DSC is a good consolation and I'm content with it and Spoon springs for my track endeavors without feeling the need to upgrade to coilovers any time soon.

You really believe 4 seconds?

A good, high end coil is typically worth 1-2 seconds after a lot of time is spent tuning it in. Some of that time comes from alignment changes tophats allow. If you're 4 seconds faster, you've blown the need for coils out of the water. 4 is like jumping from a 300tw ps4s to a 40tw slick! That's a wild grip difference.

Over the past week, I've diligently been refining the comfort settings to see if I could achieve a ride more suited to my likings. I believe I'm 95% of the way there and now I need others to chime in on where improvements may need to be made and if my "refinements" truly refined anything, or is it all placebo.

What were your goals in comfort mode?

My goal was to make comfort more forgiving than stock while retaining a safe margin go allow the suspension to adapt to aggressive acceleration, braking, and turning while still in comfort. The out of the box tune was not as plush as I’d hoped with my setup; it felt like a step backwards.

I’ll eventually adapt this tune to sport and sport + so that there is consistency but I’ll need some track time before doing so.

Yeah ok, it might be important to reset expectations just a skosh.

This device is not a miracle worker, it cannot overcome the physical limitations of a car with higher spring rates and firmer damping than most other cars on the road. It will not drive like a Lexus, ever. As well it shouldn't, the Type S drives the way it does by design- if you want that experience then you should surely buy a Lexus or something similar.

But it is refreshing to see all the incoming testimonials that there is an immediately noticeable difference from a before/after sense.

I still have yet to drive this car in any form of "spirited" sense because the weather has just been shit...

Since you also owned a 911 with a DSC, you might have recalled how it was able to unlock the full range of allowable damping in comfort vs stock that was only set to 50%. I was hoping this was also the case on the ITS, as it is certainly the case on the FL5 since the DE5 has a setting one step softer.

I do believe there are noticeable benefits to all three modes-- adding enhanced active handling to the comfort setting, and making Sport/Sport + more comfortable. Like you said, this isn't a Lexus and will have a sporty ride by design.

Installed mine today. Goal is to have a more comfortable comfort. Basically if my wife and kids are in the car, the less throwing them around, the better. I'm coming from an A6 and they were all spoiled by that. I daily drive this thing, but will also be taking it to the track this spring/summer. Not much science here, but I filled up a cup with water, drove around town, took the same route with before and after in comfort and sport+.

Basically, all of the settings spilled the same amount of water, lol. The post-install comfort was better going over railroad tracks, but worse on a single pothole I hit every time. The post-install comfort also had more side to side movement. It actually spilled less water if you take out the pothole hit, but tended to bounce side to side a bit more. Sport+ on both felt about the same, and wasn't a big difference between the two.

I'm going to try the settings bisquick posted above in the next few days and see if that's more to my liking. I need to do a little more driving before I judge too much. I haven't told my wife that I did anything, so next time we're out, I'm going to see if she has anything to say about the ride. She's usually pretty open about her thoughts on ride quality.

At the end of the day, anything that gives me more control and stuff to play with is a win for me I think.

Bisquick is on a modified suspension setup it seems. If you are on a stock suspension, your results may be very different than his.

I have ordered the DSC module. No real reason why other than if the car can handle better and ride better, why not? Also this maybe my forever car as I can’t imagine a better manual transmission car being available in 10 years.

Engine and suspension both stock. Will be interesting to find out if a “normie” butt can feel the difference.
