There are some comments with initial feedback from the pre-production DSC units on the FL5 forums. Seems like the tuning files are not sorted out yet but there is hope with the final version.

I assume ours will just be shipped on December 12th along with the rest of the orders. I’d rather have a solid product than deal with updates immediately after receiving.

Wanted to pop in with a quick update, now that the engineering team is back from SEMA and has been working steadily on fine tuning. If you've kept up with posts on Civic forums, you might see that we've been working with a few customers to improve comfort of the tune. We learned that while our tune improved comfort from stock, it was harsher than the Integra module (which is especially important info for your batch!). Rather than sending you all units that would require an immediate update, we worked with this customer over the last week to craft an even better tune that we will pre-load to your controllers before we ship them by the end of this week.

TLDR: We sent units to Civic beta testers, received immediate feedback, worked to solve the problem so now you all are "phase 2"of sorts and will receive tracking by the end of the week.

Thanks for the update, Maya.

How were the baselines developed for the ITS? Do you have access to an ITS locally for testing purposes?

I'm sure you could find someone within driving distance who would be willing to offer their vehicle for testing if needed.

This is good news. I purchased the DSC unit primarily for the added comfort. When I had the DSC for my 997.2, it allowed a greater range of motion for the comfort setting, while making the sport modes significantly more comfortable.

The ITS handles very well in Sport + already, but has such a bouncy firm ride that I rarely select it.

If anyone thinks they might know someone local to our shop (Jessup, MD) who would be interested in contributing to the ongoing tuning, please reach out! (You can tag me here or shoot us a message through our website). While we have done local work on the ITS tune, we have also done a lot of remote tuning. If you (or anyone you know) might be interested, we are always looking to improve!

I hope you appreciate the difference! If you have any other specific information on the current feel that you'd like to relay to us, let me know! While we do have data, every driver is different and more data is always better.

Me personally, I'd like to see if there is additional range for softness for comfort to eliminate the choppy ride on imperfect roads, and if the sport + can retain the sharp handling while being more comfortable due to the active suspension ability of the DSC.

What I remember on the Porsche 911-- it would firm up the individual shock based on inputs and G forces rather than having all of them on max firm all the time. This was an improvement all around that had no compromises that is unique to an active suspension controller.

From what I read on the FL5 forums, there were also added track advantages such as firming up individual shocks to reduce some of the acceleration/deceleration dives and squats, and maybe better weight transfer for left and right individual shock control.

I prefer an extended testing phase vs a rushed release. Acuity did the same for their shifter kit and we were all better for it in the end. Thank you for the update Maya, looking forward to the finalized product!

I'm pretty excited to dig into the software and see what kind of changes can be made.

I want to see if it possible to have the car behave differently whether I'm braking in a straight line or braking while turning. Specifically thinking about when I brake in a straight line before turn one at Lime Rock, I want the car to be rock solid but when I'm braking while in a turn, I want the car to rotate with me.

I'm in Pasadena. I bought a DSC for my 991.2 Carrera S a few years back (~2022) and had it installed at what I think was the old building.

I'm happy to work something out for testing.

This is the primary goal in the Sport mode! We work on controlling weight transfer in every application, and we are very satisfied with the results so far. Dive and body roll are two factors that contribute the greatest amount of discomfort, so we work on remedying that first.

We have been working with several autocross customers on this specific need, and will hopefully be putting out an extra autocross-specific tune that emphasizes handling just a little bit more in sport +. Controllers will come preloaded with the base file but you will all be given access to any files we create, as early adopters.
