Here's a fun one; the Type S is a solid all-rounder, but what enthusiast car do you think would compliment the Type S well?

for me, I think it would be a DCT F87 M2 Comp - which is hilarious because I just sold that car, right before buying my DE5, and it was an instant regret.

I loved the M2's short and playful wheelbase, and the S58 is truly a masterpiece in itself.

I miss the car so much i've decided to buy the CS version this time as a keeper, and I think it will compliment the Type S perfectly.
I had a 2015 BMW M235 that was quite nice, plus it was rear wheel drive.

I may be partial, but I think the s2k is a better roadster :)
can’t argue with this undeniable truth. S2K is the answer. Shoutout to my Ridgeline, not sure that it fits the description of an enthusiast car but it tows either fun car to the track just fine

I think an M3 competition would be a great complement to the Type S! All-wheel drive, luxury features, and very fast. It would be fun to drive in a much different way from the Integra.

The responses to the question are going to be very high cardinality. It's going to depend on individual taste and use case.

Personally, the list in the OP's signature pretty much is about the best all-around garage I can imagine. The only base left uncovered is the ultra-high end supercar/hypercar, which starts somewhere around the GT3/C8 Z06 area and goes up towards infinity (Bugatti Tourbillon?).

GT4 covers the high end sports car. S2K covers down on roadster AND classic. Tacoma takes care of the utility. DE5 fills in all the gaps.

Perfect 2 car garage though, as I mentioned, will greatly vary. Personally, my wife's 95B.3 Macan GTS is a pretty good one. But I'm also looking to augment with a classic high-revving, naturally aspirated analog experience. Right now I'm leaning heavily towards a DC2 Type R, but other JDM heroes are in consideration, as well as older 911s or Caymans. Z4M either coupe or convertible, E46/E92 earn at the very least honorable mentions as well.

But honestly, the DE5 hits all the sports car notes, if you can let go of the wanderlust that is unfortunately part of the enthusiast experience that can spiral out of control if you allow it. I've been pretty successful at that last part for the past 2+ years. Sure I'll see an M2 CS (yes, the Misano Blue with the gold wheels is my ideal spec as well) and wish I would have just paid for the mint 5k mile full-PPF example I could have had for $105k in 2022... but l feel like I would have got bored of that car eventually too.

The DE5 works for a lot of reasons, but I think most of all is that I don't feel like I overpaid. Virtually everything else out there that meets the same baseline requirements I have for the DE5 would give me that same sense that I felt with the last several cars I've had, where the subconscious disappointment of knowing there might be another car out there I'd like more than this BUT I'm already paying so much for this one kind of poisons the well a bit.

I don't get that sense with the DE5. Makes everything a little more tolerable and enjoyable.

Miata is always an answer (and a damn fine one) however if you are trying to compliment the Type S we need

Class leading shifting
Class leading suspension
Roof (roadsters are just different and the chassis is not as tight)

this leads us to a 981 Cayman or even a 718.

They shift wonderfully, one of the best EPS out there, killer suspension for street, engine in middle, undervalued since 911 is the brand.

The Integra is similar in weight (compared to 3800-4000+ sports sedans from BMW and such)

Graham would approve.

Type-S Daily for just normal community.
RX8 for when i want to rev high, brap around, and enjoy some "spirited driving" lol.
Also dont want to really mod the daily, so the RX8 scratches that itch.
