You shifter guys are all nuts, but to each their own. My sense is that if I have to throw different parts at it until I find something that feels good to me, it's a "ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of thing...

But I get how some people enjoy these kind of things specifically for that reason. It's... interesting to watch it play out with you guys chasing this perfect shifter thing in real time lol.
It’s fun finding the shift knob that feels best to you , do you always wear the same shoes ?

I'm not sure about all of you but I prefer driving in my birthday suit.

No doubt the car is fantastic out of the box *but* I guess I'd like it to be even better suited for my individual tastes. They couldn't possibly please everyone but Acura did a great job with this overall package.

Then you got guys like @bpebler and @Integra23 that won't leave a factory screw or nut untouched ?

I feel like this is a terrible analogy.

I guess you could argue that both shoes and shifters could be chosen based on functional or aesthetic properties... but then again some people choose shoes that are notably non-functional (to the point of pain for some...) because they like the aesthetics.

And from a functional perspective, if I found a perfect pair of shoes (I have not), then yes- I would always wear the same ones, amirite?

Also, shifters aren't typically considered wear items, shoes are. (One could argue alcantara shift knobs are wear items, and back it with strong anecdotal evidence. One == me. I could argue that.) So by that very nature shoes are replaced often, thus making this question rhetorical.

Look, this is all in jest. I get it. People find fun in different ways. Like verbosely calling out people's awkward analogies, some people think that's fun. You're free to question the logic behind why.

Seriously, I get it. I am routinely that guy that does hours of research before buying a pair of headphones, just to turn around and do it all over again a couple weeks later convinced that I *need* both of them. Same goes for keyboards. TVs. Dog beds. Squat racks. Frying pans. Literally- you name it.

Fortunately for me shifters haven't popped up as one of these things that I need to obsess over, so it's fun seeing other people do it from a casual observation perspective.

Fair point but for me I’m mainly doing it for look and feel. I’m not a race car driver but many do the same , not for looks but for feel , height and more .

For me, it's admittedly likely a mental disorder. Runs in the family. We just can't leave shit alone. ? Each of us to our own degree. Grandpa, dad, dad in law, brother. We're all f**ked. ?

When it's not the vehicles - it's the house, or the shop, or the trees/landscaping on the property, or just something to tear into.

I really had no intentions to mess with the car as much as I have, honest. That was part of the reason why I chose this car. I felt it came out of the package just great - maybe some simple stuff like tint, wheels, & minor interior items. Now look at me. It's like crack cocaine on an Integra Type S. ?

I've avoided the shifter so far though! It was close though, I cancelled the order to opt for other things. That counts right?

Got some of the XPEL PPF changed out after some stone damage to the PPF. Paint undamaged under the PPF upon removal.

That SUCKS! Is this something that you'll have to do on a continuous basis? Hopefully this is a one-time thing based off a "traumatic event", and not some sort of environmental hazard based on where you live and where you're forced to drive!

It's awesome the film did its job- but replacing film every year is going to be insane.

My PPF installer swapped that panel of PPF without cost since he was replacing another piece that was defective. There is tons of sand, salt and brine used on the roads in my area and I it’s not uncommon for nicks and tears to form on the PPF. The dirty torn PPF edges just show up worst against a white paint job compared to darker colors. I have PPF on my 2018 red Tesla and haven’t changed any PPF panels on that car yet, so hopefully it isn’t a yearly issue for my DE5.

Yeah... I would probably still own a white M2 CS if the PPF job on it wasn't completely hideous and turned me off to the car entirely... but that was also just a terrible PPF job, not just the PPF on a white car. But after having similar issues on several white cars in the past, I honestly don't know if I'd do PPF on a white car again. Rock chips are probably less apparent than dirty PPF edges if I'm being honest...

Didn’t β€œdo” anything to it, but went to cars and coffee earlier and there were a ton of awesome cars, but only one ITS ;)
Same! I was at one this morning and there was only one other and it was owned by the dealership manager.
