I'm sure there's an explanation somewhere in this forum that I just haven't found yet:

Within the next year, we want to lower our A-Spec with Eibachs or H&Rs, and fit aftermarket 19" wheels.

At the same time we do this, we want to make sure the new 19" wheels sit more flush with the body (as we all do in this forum).

So my question is: can I accomplish this by getting wheels wider than the factory 8" and with a smaller offset than the factory +50mm? Like, a "deep dish" style wheel?

Or can this flush look only be accomplished by using spacers?

Perhaps someone has a number out there, how much to push the wheels out to sit more flush, and I'm guessing it's about 3/4" to 1" to sit flush? (19mm-25mm?)

So....

  1. Accomplish this with a wider 9" or 9.5" wheel and an offset of ___?
  2. Or a wheel of OEM 8" width (or 8.5") and ___mm spacers?

Without affecting suspension geometry and adaptive dampers, of course...!

Thanks, people!

This is a great site to use that will let you see where the wheel will sit compared to OE wheel:

@Frenzal , this is awesome, thanks for sharing!

So, is it safe to say it IS possible to get a more flush look by getting wider wheels with a lower offset number? And, if so, do y'all just shop around for wheels using your own parameters? Because when you use, for example, Tire Rack, OEM +1 searches result in 19" wheels of max 8.5" width, and most of the offsets are still pretty high (positive).

Or do most of you guys just get spacers?

When I see those "hellaflush" DE4s, offsets are around the +30-35 range, so that would be the number I guess, but how you achieve that is up to you. The purpose of a spacer is to visually alter the offset of an existing wheel, so what spacer you'd need is dependent on the offset of the wheel. If you're already planning on ordering wheels, buy once, cry once and get the offset you want, and then you won't need spacers. Now, if the wheels you want don't have the offset you want you may need to run spacers. Not as many people running 19s there's a few in the Fitment industries gallery to get an idea though.
