@toddrhodes , that's awesome, man, thank you very much for that information.... I'm genuinely surprised to discover most A-Spec'ers are staying with 18" diameters, so I love getting info like you and @nightkid3 provided... 18s are making more and more sense. Thanks! Definitely leaning towards...
That's okay, it was still nice seeing your DE5!!
This might be a good question to direct to you: if I go with a wider wheel for my DE4, like 9" or 9.5", and use a 265 tire, is that too much tire for a DE4? Coming from a person with a DE5 and stock 265 tires.....
Ok, I came across another thread that mentioned Curva Concept wheels, and found this:
DC6 Integra Wheels | 19×8.5 +35 | Curva Concepts CFF70
This seems to be exactly the look I'm going for, including the wheel design itself (Type S vibe). From what I'm reading, this near-flush look was...
Right! That's why I mentioned "my A-Spec." Hoping to get some fairly concrete figures from people who have gone to 19" wheels AND more flush with the fenders on their A-Specs.
I'll be using that worksheet website you sent me big time, along with the links @nightkid3 posted above.
That's a beautiful look!
For my A-Spec, I'm not sure yet HOW flush I can go with the fenders and still have enough clearance for the front wheels to turn, etc. I'm still looking around other threads to see what other A-Spec'ers have done.
I'll take anything better than stock, though!
@nightkid3 , perfect, thanks for that info, super helpful!
I'll say right off the bat, we're DEFINITELY not going for the "hellaflush" look... we just want the wheels to approximate the fenders more than they do stock (man, WHY did Acura let the A-Spec leave the factory with such a tucked-in...
@Frenzal , this is awesome, thanks for sharing!
So, is it safe to say it IS possible to get a more flush look by getting wider wheels with a lower offset number? And, if so, do y'all just shop around for wheels using your own parameters? Because when you use, for example, Tire Rack, OEM +1...
I'm sure there's an explanation somewhere in this forum that I just haven't found yet:
Within the next year, we want to lower our A-Spec with Eibachs or H&Rs, and fit aftermarket 19" wheels.
At the same time we do this, we want to make sure the new 19" wheels sit more flush with the body (as...
Love reading what people have done to their A-Specs. I started a new thread earlier this week on HomeLink (just got this car last weekend), that's our first project and got some great feedback from everyone.
At some point we want to do 19" wheels like you did. Silly question: when you went...
No kidding, right! When we were at the Acura dealership last Saturday closing the deal on our Integra, there wes an Integra Type S AND an MDX Type S on the showroom floor ... I was SHOCKED that the Integra seats were no memory and manual, and sitting in the MDX Type S with its 14-way power front...
Hey, this might be the wrong thread for that, but to answer your question, no, our A-Spec has its factory side mirrors. The only motivation I would ever have to swap out the side mirrors is if it got me mirrors that are in sync with the memory seats.... That was a HUGE shock when I got back into...
@Pied , Good information.... I was actually wondering if we could just use a butt connector... seems like most everyone is using solder, which I know is THE most reliable method to connect wires... but barring that, crimp a butt connector really well and seal it with heat tubing? Secure enough?
Ha, I like your logic! In my mind, I was just thinking that the Acura-to-Acura wiring would be more foolproof, but the reality is, those cars are all built in the same plant with pretty much the same parts, so I'll nix that thinking right away, ha.
So, with the wiring, as I'm getting the red &...
