New owner ITS MY26, still doing the break-in procedure (easy shifts, low revs, break in till appx 1k kms)…however noticed in neutral and sport + … still cannot replicate what I’ve heard online and from others…no burbles or pops/bangs?! Has Acura updated software due to govt emissions regulations or possibly toned down ? Curious are many owners experiencing same, would it change after more miles on car or when car reaches warmer temp?? Any feedback is appreciated!

Most people are tuned and have the pops and bangs made louder is all. They’re pretty faint in comparison stock.

I don't doubt that some owners tune to make the exhaust sounds louder, but, I have to disagree that they are faint with the OE tune. In Sport + you should easily hear the racket produced. I don't know what the recommended break in procedure is, mine was full go off the dealer lot. But unless you are granny shifting at 2K, you should easily hear it.

Only 33k (kms not miles)…I tend to disagree bc I’ve driven a stock tune MY24 and heard them clearly (even if not loud)…
ive not been able to replicate, seems odd to me that there is none whatsoever.

Yep, odd. I notice that you are in Canada. Is it possible that emission regs there could preclude this feature?

I know i have different engine but in my a-spec i deleted the resonator and the pops became much more apparent. Although, If i could go back i would have waited for a downpipe and kept the resonator.

Only 33 kms right? Not 33k kms? Since you mentioned you're still in break in I assume the former.

Some of the codes on the system are silent and take some driving to clear. Every time I reflash my car I lose the pops and bangs for about 50 mi or 3 to 4 restarts. I don't believe I've seen anything to indicate the newer models have a different tuning for the pops. I would just give it some more driving to try and clear it or scan with a tool to check for a code.

I have a 26, sport+, easy to hear the pops bangs and everything else, only when the car has 3-4 on the temp and I dont think it happens when I'm in neutral revving. Get the car warm, take it to 3k rpm in first or second and let off the gas. You should be able to hear

Use a scan tool to check for codes. Might be a pending code with no CEL; still, you would loose the pops and bangs.
Clear code and they'll come back right away.

As said before, your engine temp needs to be at 4 bars.

Mine was like this when I picked it up. No check engine light or any other issues but no pops and bangs in sport+. Got an obd II scanner and there was some low voltage ghost code. Cleared that and bam, pops and bangs are back. Happened one more time after that but no issues since and now at almost 16k miles.

Yes. I have 1,000 miles now and they're louder and maybe a bit more aggressive, but I remember hearing them 100 miles in.

/\ this 100%

just see what codes are stored. Just in case.

my pops didn’t come in till I finally rolled over about 300 miles-ish for some reason. Also, the radiator water temp has to hit the 4th tick mark before the ecu allows for the scandalous pops in sport plus mode. Make sure you’re using premium pump fuel too
