I'm glad they're addressing the ride quality. Normally other reviews says it's "comfortable" but I disagree. The ride is stiff. If you live around bad roads or urban settings, it's a bit much. My 997.2 C4S with PASM and a DSC module rode better and obviously handled well.It is a loud car. Interior noise is not very subdued. And IMHO the stereo is not that great. And the ride quality is better than a (stock) FL5, but that's a low bar.
Other than that, there isn't really much competition if you want a car that does all the "driving" stuff right, while maintaining as much practicality as all but the biggest SUVs and minivans.
Still very happy with my car, and honestly the way I have it set up I probably have lost most if not all interest in any spicier variant (e.g., rumored HRC or PMC edition).
From a serial car "destination anxiety" addict- this one's a keeper.
I flirted with the idea of the CT4V BW but passed (again- I considered it initially) because end of the day, it's a Cadillac. The ride I'm sure is great, and the drivetrain being RWD and a V6 I'm sure is a step up from the Type S and I've even heard the shifter is great... but the chassis feel and steering is just too important to me, and too good in the Type S. And I like the way the Blackwings look, but I can't see myself driving one.I'm glad they're addressing the ride quality. Normally other reviews says it's "comfortable" but I disagree. I have been looking more and more into the CT4V Blackwing, nearly all reviews seem to believe the ride quality is magic, it offers a great 6 speed, has more power, RWD. Just has a terrible backseat, has a trunk vs a hatch, and I don't love the looks.
It's a well dampened car. It's still a stupid stiff spring rate and bar for a factory car. To be fair, this is not intended to be a luxury vehicle or nice road car, it's intended (as the suspension and alignment are written) to be driven very hard. The ct4v would feel far more compromised far more quickly on a track, but it's a much better highway blaster. Its probably feels very comfortable to those living in the south or southwest, though. They have tremendously better roads than the Salt belt up.I'm glad they're addressing the ride quality. Normally other reviews says it's "comfortable" but I disagree. The ride is stiff. I think the stereo makes a good first impression, but compared to ACTUALLY good stereos it's not even close. It's a well dampened car. It's still a stupid stiff spring rate and bar for a factory car. Agreed with Optronix that the stereo is meh. Turn it up and the mids and treble pierce your ears. Turn it down and the mids disappear while the bass starts to boom. There's just no happy medium it seems. It's the first car in years that I've contemplated replacing it all.
