If you go with the Civic one, the only mod you'll have to make is to add a jumper wire from the +12V signal for the mirror dimming control to power the HomeLink buttons. But like others have said, it has a frame, so the Accord mirror is the better route if you want to retain the OEM look of the Integra
mirror.

The Accord one really isn't that bad to install and can be done in a few hours. You just need to buy the harness for it, and have some plastic trim removal tools so you don't scratch the panels. Zip ties to secure the wires in the A-pillar, and a new clip for the A-pillar trim, since that's where your side curtain airbag lives and you don't want to cut corners on safety.

Here's the video I made when I installed mine:

Awesome feedback, thanks. I was hoping to avoid having to deal with the A-pillar and the extra harness. Someone posted a thread about opening the back of the Accord mirror housing and cutting out the plug and swapping in the original Acura plug, rearranging/soldering a couple wires, and then the new mirror plugs right into the original window housing....?

I I think I must be referring to @Spart 's how-to, ha!

Thanks!

Awesome feedback, everyone; much appreciated!

I'm truly thinking of going the MDX route of @JC-RH .... Either way, between the MDX or Accord mirror, both require opening up the new mirror housing and both require doing the yellow/red wire jumping, and that's about it... Right?

They're both frameless, both look slick... And the selling points for me are that the MDX mirror is an actual Acura part (if that even helps) and that it turns the HomeLink completely off when the car is off (I often park outside).

I'll definitely post what I end up purchasing and I'll try to take pics of my process, just to chip in with some how-to's.

I'm not the only one who went this route am I?

meross Smart Garage Door Opener Remote, Compatible with Apple HomeKit, Siri, CarPlay, Alexa, Google, SmartThings, and Android, Universal WiFi Garage Door Controller, App + Voice Control, No Hub Needed https://a.co/d/02Lw8dir

It works pretty great and I just use my Android Auto screen with a SmartThings button on it to access it and open or close the garage.

Aside from the stem and harness, there's exactly zero difference between the frameless mirror that came in my Integra and the Accord frameless mirror with Homelink, other than the Homelink buttons.

They're absolutely identical.

Homelink being off when the car is off also isn't unique to the MDX, that would apply to the Accord mirror also. It's a consequence of using the wire that powers the auto dimming function to also power the Homelink module, so control of when that circuit is on or off comes from the car, not the mirror. The Integra only powers the auto dimming circuit when the ignition is switched on.

The advantage to the Accord mirror is Honda dealers are more competitive to order from online. The MDX mirror runs about $20 more. If you want to spend $20 to have an Acura logo on a box you're going to throw in the trash, go for it.

@chad75 Yes, don't fall into the illusion that a part is better just because it's sold by Acura or more expensive. You'll find that if you look closely at many parts in the Integra, they will have Honda branding. Even the rubber mat at the bottom of the armrest storage is Honda labeled and says "The Civic History Goes on" on the bottom of it. Many of these parts are interchangeable and share the same part number whether you look them up on a Honda site or an Acura site.

I added a similar solution (RATGDO + Home Assistant + CarPlay) to my garage. That said, I still mainly use the HomeLink buttons because it's a one-click solution. I would hate to have to pull out my phone every time I come home, or have to look at the screen and potentially have up to 4 screen presses on my infotainment screen.

It is convenient to use if I'm ever in a loaner or if I'm out for a bike ride, but if I'm in my car I primarily use the HomeLink buttons.

I am generally turning against traffic to get into my driveway, and keeping an eye out for cyclists, kids, pets, etc.

Fumbling around with the infotainment every single time I do that is the absolute last thing I want to be doing, I can hit the Homelink button without even looking at it.

It’s crazy that Acura omitted this from being standard on their higher trim levels, but I’m glad that we found a few reasonable options to address it.

I too find it much easier to hit a physical button on the mirror as opposed other options. I tried several, and it was sometimes a hassle for one reason or another. Having a garage door remote clicker also took away from the interior.

If you decide not to deal w/ the A-Pillar and extra harness, I don't believe you need to go so far as to cut out plugs, soldering, or the like. You could just jumper the wires like they show here:

I never have to touch my phone as I am in Android Auto already. It's just two or three clicks depending on what screen you are on, easy peasy.

I'm either on CarPlay or radio. Worst case, with radio it's 4 clicks, but the part I hate the most is having to take your eyes off the road to look at what you're doing. And then what happens if your internet is down or your device is not responding for some reason?

With the HomeLink buttons, I can do it by feel and it's reliable.

Regardless, to each their own.

I agree to each their own, but worrying about your eyes off the road? You are in your driveway LOL.
