Driver seat bad creaking- Dealer said “normal”

Went to the dealer today, showed him this noise, which sounds like a 100 year old recliner when you put any sort of weight on it. Normal movements, shifting… this is “normal”. In their report, said doesn’t make noise unless “extreme movements are made”… like shifting gears in the car and moving around?

No creaking here (at 8000 miles). Id be tempted to call them out on this one. Dealers are lazy and make crap up.

Local DE5 owner in Vancouver, Canada area had his seat warrantied for creaking driver seat a while back. Dealer stripped the seat foam out and replaced the plastic piece underneath causing the noise.

Might want to reach out to Andy of Ziptie Tuning on youtube/IG who had it warrantied. Another member is in the process of trying to get his creaky seat warrantied.

I had the creaking noise on my '24 ITS. Took it to the dealer. The noise stopped after the visit. I don't remember exactly what was done, but no noise since. I bet there is a TSB on a fix.

Yeah I think it depends on which advisor you get, even though he said he would have the techs look at it. Not sure how you can be comfortable saying this is normal, nor would I describe my movements anywhere near “extreme” as he put in the notes on the service. Like what a joke

mine makes noises too. you can try replacing the spring mechanism in the back. i plan on doing it to mine eventually. I think the springs can bend a bit, lose tension, and make noise. also, the indicate lubrication points on the springs in the service manual.

You should not have to be doing this on a new car, especially yourself.

I've taken the seats apart and there's nothing odd or special. They're the same as any other standard seat out there. The creaking is likely coming from one of the straps or numerous seat stays. Several of mine were just loose from factory and would never tension fit.

I hate to say it, but it's just poor build quality. If you look at used cars (or even most new ones) the bolsters almost always looks saggy and loose. They're just sewed too long. On mine, I'd have to shorten several tension clips by 1/2" or more to get a snug fit... That's really crap build.

Op, keep pushing on the dealer and tell them you're not accepting that answer. Send a note to acura national and tell them your dealer is dismissing a complaint that you believe is due to faulty build and they'll eventually get back to you. They take forever because their queue is massive. There are a lot of complaints going to acura/honda of poor build quality, transmissions grenading, leather falling apart, noises, steering issues, and many other things. I know no one on this forum wants to hear this, but general honda/acura build quality and reliability is VERY poor in recent years. My father's mdx blew up the trans before 80k. My brother in law's Ridgeline seized up and later also blew up the trans. They're just not a reliable vehicle anymore. I love my car, and it's fun to drive, but a performance car with non vented rotors, no baffled oil pan, no oil temp sensor, no coolant level sensor, and such horrible delivery state is not anything to be proud of. Great fun to drive, but reliability is questionable.

I’ve been dealing with the same issue. I think my dealer is just trying to wait out my warranty. I’ve noted it every time I go in for anything. “hows the car?, they ask, “well the drivers seat still creaks and groans just like last time”, I say. They just dismiss it and say “oh well it’s normal”. And we all know it’s not. I’ll be back in there before the end of the year, and hopefully, they'll take me seriously. Do better Acura…please...

Just make sure your concerns about the noise are documented on every repair order. If you go beyond your warranty ending, you can show proof of the concerns prior to the expiration.

As I posted earlier, my dealership dealt with this on one visit.

I feel like it also depends on which service advisor you get. Unfortunately for me the Acura dealer is almost an hour away, so I have to plan with other errands involving that drive. Honestly in addition to the seat, I have like coming and going rattling from multiple places, as many others do

I have a spring noise in my drivers seat on the left side anytime I go over a bump or change gears, bringing my car in for Acura to see if they can fix it, anyone here had the same issue with a SPRING NOISE from their seat?
