Exactly, I went to dealer and they didn’t have receipt or record a dealer installed. I should have argued, but figured I’d need to re clear anyway. Kinda sucks I still have some of the fading I can see, but looks way better after re clearing. Still cleaning up the trunk before putting back on.
Hey guys, took my oem carbon fiber spoiler off to re clear coat it because it was peeling. Found the previous owner did touch up the holes, but not well enough. Slight bubbling around the and spots in rim of hole. Should I take to a body shop to have done right or try to tape off and tackle...
Read all posts saying you have to drive through a lake. I hydrolocked my k20z1 on my Rsx by driving through torrential rain with no fender liners (stupid yes) but did not even drive through any big puddles. So never again true CAI for me 🤷🏼‍♂️
I got it the best I could, and sprayed, waiting to Cure.
Did notice rust on the holes they drilled, they painted but not well enough. What should I do here?
Made a post, but figured I’d follow up in here. Sanded with 600 grit Bauer sander, and scotch pad. Feels smooth as I can get it with 600, the peeling spots feel slightly less smooth but I’m not catching my nail on any transitions. Dealer denied replacing as I didn’t have receipt or proof dealer...
Took my oem spoiler off because it was peeling like many others. Went through a pain in the ass getting the spoiler off with the zip ties, and getting the tape off- want to make sure I’m doing this the best I can. I got a Bauer sander and 600 grit disc, also used scotch pad and got it as smooth...
I’m sure it could, people also just put some good quality clear coat on it and should be fine. Ppf is a thought tho. Mine just had normal clear coat peeling like others I’ve seen
Yeah true, now Acura said they should replace, I’m wondering if I should even bother since I’m just going to sand and clear coat the new one as well anyway
Yeah I don’t know for the life of me couldn’t pinch them correctly and also slide them off with needle nose. Even the ones that are easy to reach literally had to pinch with my nails. Why did Honda make you drill new holes; and install this way when the stock spoiler already has holes and had...
Hello ladies and gents. Looking to get some magestic black pearl touch up paint for a few spots. Anyone have any recs, or just get from oem warehouse best? Is there an easier way to apply than others? I hate dealing with anything paint related and it scares me lol
Thanks, I’m going to call my dealer tomorrow. Managed to figure out how to get the zip ties undone, the corner ones under the grommet were a bitch, but once I figured out how the easier ones to reach came loose, I was able to squeeze and bruise my forearm in the process getting the corner ones...
Got the rear trunk plastic removed, can’t figure out how to loosen the zip ties while also prying up on the spoiler that’s still held on my tape. Has anyone removed? Are they not supposed to be removed? lol I too am dealing with the clear coat peeling issue, and didn’t feel like going to the...
Yeah, seems like a bitch to get all that adhesive off, and then to have to lay down more , ugh but is what it is. I think I should try and at least get it covered under warranty as well. And then clear it
Yeah wasn’t sure, was looking at the install vid and seems to use plastic ties of some sort, haven’t found any vids of people removing once installing which is strange; being this is a common problem with the peeling. I’d probably be less hesitant if I had installed myself.
Just feel like you can’t take it off without needing new zip ties tho right? I guess that’s my best bet, I mean even if I drove an hour to dealer; got a new one, would still need to properly coat it and install myself basically it seems.
Hey guys, I know this is a common issue now. I bought car used with the spoiler installed- however I have read that since it’s an oem accessory, and well documented, some have had luck. I was just curious how many people actually had theirs replaced under warranty? Did you guys apply a better...
