You really don't know why the CTR has so many track focused screens and the ITS doesn't? It's obvious, or at least it should be. These vehicles are platform siblings but they diverge when it comes to brand philosophy and market positioning. I thought everyone was clear on this back in 2023. If you're looking for bolstered bucket seats, native datalogging functionality, Cup 2 tires as a dealer option, and track inspired instrumentation, those items will not be in the Integra Type S. The exclusion of these items are not misses, the omissions are intentional.
Im not saying they need to be the same or be as in depth, but Acura could have given us something more than they did, which is pretty much nothing. Even if you want to say that it was omitted because its not a track inspired car thats a fair point, but Acura should have included more luxury type items ie. Home-link mirror or back vents. Even if they put throttle position, brake pressure and boost on the infotainment system that would be better.

I get where you're coming from. I've read posts on this forum over the last 2+ years about the perceived misses of the DE5 and it sounds a little greedy, especially at the price point. I also can't help but think that what people have been describing is a G80 M3, which probably annoys you to read since you just came from one.

As a long time BMW M addict, I disavowed the G series M cars since they were introduced in early 2021...until last weekend. I spent a fair amount of time driving them on track in Spartanburg and it was a productive exercise and rewarding. Reflecting on my experience and everything I've learned about them over the last several months, there's zero chance I would substitute a G80/G82 for an FL5/DE5. That's saying a lot because I absolutely adore my FL5. I would only add to the stable, and not swap. The differences are just too stark because they're just too different. I know myself and it's doubtful I would be able to "get there" and ultimately be satisfied with my decision.

Understood about seeing this over and over. And i am also new to the car so im going though all of it for the first time. I think the ITR is a very fun car, it fits the bill for me for right now. Would it be nice to have more data yes, but it also doesn’t need all the tech a BMW has i did find it a bit overwhelming. I wish i could have added the ITR with the M3 but the point was to get a car that is fun to drive and less expensive and the ITR fits that bill. The M cars are expensive to own in every way.

To be fair, it does have throttle and brake position sensors... Arguably that is the most useful function for true performance driving, outside of temp metrics. It just makes them useless the moment you turn off traction control. It also has no sense of oil temp or even washer fluid level, while somehow having a brake temp sensor 😂. These are fairly substantial ommisions at this price point compared to similar vehicles. I don't see this as a track car though, but a car to drive on track when you feel like it. It does well in this capacity, and matures the boy racer look of the Fl5.

The issue I believe isn't what it doesn't have, so much as what it does have is extremely limited. There's no point to the digital cluster in this car. In fact, from a luxury standpoint I believe it takes away a lot, and would have been nicer with two proper gauges with a couple small screens to augment the driver assistance stuff. Tech wise it's definitely last decade... Or even pre 2015 if I'm being honest. I almost traded it for an m3 again recently, but I just couldn't get over the weight, poor clutch feel, poor shifter, and lack of steering feel out of the M. Great daily commuter, but it's a lot more benign than the its. I believe that's where the confusion is... Are you a sports car, Integra? No... Are you a luxury car? No... Are you a track car? No... Well what are you?? Simply fun to drive and pretty while also being able to shuttle a couple more people than a sports car. Great drive, but it does explain why the Fl5 crowd is so "special snowflake" and looks down on the its. While also not a true sports car, it at least knows what it is and isn't.
