Hey guys, was at a pump tonight where the auto stop lever wasn’t working, so I just manually stopped it at 10ish gallons. The car only had a range of 15 miles at that point. When I got in the car the range said 410 miles. Which I feel like I’ve never seen in the 400s lol. Did I overfill it? Have I not noticed such a high range before? Obv won’t be going to a broken pump often in the future- just wondering what harm this could actually cause.

400 miles wow!, I don't get much over 400 km let alone miles... I've overfill in other vehicles, just go for a long drive burn it off and it'll be fine. There's nothing in there to be damaged if it's only a short while I don't think.

Did you recently have your battery disconnected? Every time I've done that, the range reset to something like 380 (in the Type S which almost never shows over 300). The next time you fill up it should be back to normal.

I wouldn't expect 10 gallons to over fill it w/ that many miles remaining, but over filling the tank can cause damage to the charcoal canister which is designed for vapors, not liquids...if liquid gasoline were to reach it. It may also impact the EVAP system.

I consistently get over 400 when I fill up, in fact I'd double take if I saw less than and look at my average MPG. Nothing to worry about especially if you didn't have gas spilling back out which, as mentioned, could cause gas to get in the EVAP system. Even then one or two times is probably not going to be an issue (ask me how I know - managed to overfill a couple of times on some other Honda vehicles when they started with the no cap fill port with no issues/problems). Learned when the pump clicks off, it means full or at least don't try to top it off too much:).
