Well, I've only had my '24 Aspec-Tech 6spd for 6 months and had a Rivian rear-end it. Heavy freeway traffic and had to stop quickly...the Rivian decides to not stop. My 3000lbs vs. 7000lbs Rivian. They were going about 35-40mph when they hit us. My wife and I are fine thankfully. Waiting on the Highway Patrol report now.

I did want to share how well the Integra protected us. It doesn't look TOO bad, but lots of hidden damage possible. Hell, the tail lights even survived. The hatch and bumper are toast. No idea yet structurally yet. The fact that a 7000lbs Rivian hit us at 35-40mph and we walked away is good enough for me. Of course the Rivian Murder Machine barely had a dent. Thank you Acura!

I opened this thinking someone was cross-shopping an Integra and a Rivian, so I was prepared for some solid humor--sorry to hear this happened, but it's great the Integra kept you and the family safe!

Rivian Murder Machine

Glad you guys are safe! Always the best outcome. Cars can always be replaced.
Had my 2019 Hatch civic totaled in a similar way. Except not by at truck but a 2019 Accord. Had less damage (visually) than yours but structurally the frame was toast. Was over $27,000 in repairs. The insurance ruled it totaled and that’s what led me to the integra. The issue with modern frames is the crumble zones that result in extensive frame damage. Hopefully your insurance journey/body repair is quick!

Yeah, that is what I am afraid of as well...frame damage from a 7000lb murder machine...🤣 And thanks for the kind words.

So glad you are ok.
I Used to have an accord , got rear ended by a semi , the insurance company decided to fix the car. The car was never the same and was always having issues. It was always leaking through the rear door whenever it rained hard :)
if nothing else I hope they just total it and give you a new car.

Glad you are okay..
I am quite surprised the hatch glass did not break with that kind of impact.
Says a lot about the quality of the subframe IMO.
Hope the insurance does not run up on you like the other driver did.

Yep, I was shocked the rear glass and the tail lights remained intact!!! I guess the curve of the rear end saved the tail lights...but it's a FLAT rear end now...😐
