Nice! Looks great!!👍🏽
Thank you I really do like it :). Lmk if you guys have any rim ideas. I’m thinking black or bronze. Not in any rush though and I do want to stick to 19”. If you have rim ideas you think would go good with the color please let me know.

Looks nice. I'm thinking about getting one myself but I heard some people say that the spoiler looks small on the de5. I would like to see more photos tho.

I'm wondering if the roof spoiler makes the fl5 spoiler ineffective??
The roof spoiler would lift and disturb the air significantly higher than factory. It changes the way the spoiler sees the airflow and because the disturbed/separated air is not flowing under the spoiler (but directly at it) it will cause fairly significant drag. There's probably moderate downforce occurring, but it's less effective for certain.

Whats hard to tell is the variation between the civic hatch steepness and the de5 fastback shape. The de5 is significantly slicker and specifically uses the factory lip as a big gurney flap. It works in conjunction with the factory roof spoiler and the factory diffuser to reduce overall lift. The Fl5 air foil shape takes into account the Fl5 hatch shape, steepness, and it does not have the roof spoiler so air stays lower and tighter. I suspect on the de5 the Fl5 airfoil would need to be mounted up further/higher so that the front curvature of the foil can catch air above the disturbed air the roof spoiler is producing.

Either way, you do not want to remove the trunk lip. It's a gurney flap and does a lot. The carbon one does a lot more. Without it, at high speeds the lift generated would be noticeable.

Can you please take a picture of the whole car from the side with the spoiler? I think the side profile of the car is what would benefit most from the spoiler

I like it. I think it would look cool mounted higher with some risers, like the PRL or Cusco ones

Mind sharing what the holes/alignment are like in the trunk?
I wondered about that. The fl5 hatch has those impressions where the spoiler mounts. We don’t have that to my knowledge?

also. The angle of our hatch is different, making that functional fl5 spoiler less or more functional. Personally I’m not sure. Seems like the angle the blade would take will help with lift in the rear but maybe won’t add any kind of downforce and at a cost of a good bit of drag till maybe 70-80mph?

I can get images soon but …

I spent all of 0.3 seconds calculating the aero impact before deciding it looked cool and ordering/installing it anyway.

No bro that’s fine. If it’s just for looks that’s ok. Your car your rules

some folks won’t dare do this unless there’s an aero benefit and honestly i feel that’s ok too

Thank you! I did start thinking of it after! Especially with the roof spoiler. I feel like that counter acts the spoiler now. But looks wise I do like it.
