Holy cow dude, I'm your neighbor. I was out walking with my family a little while ago and saw your car. I even joked with my wife that it's time to get rid of mine since there's another one in the neighborhood now.

Mine's the same color, albeit with an exhaust and wrapped roof.

Also, I never knew that skyline was hiding in that garage!
I think I have seen you cruising around, if you ever catch the garage open, stop on by and check it out if you'd like!

If you leave the keys there, I'm sure he'd be happy to take it out for a drive for you too 🤣

What a small world! I'm not involved in this, but happy to see it for you guys!

Got a PRL intake installed, figured I'd get one if the old one had to come out for the Acuity Shifter Bushings. Start of the Stage 2 Acuity Short Shifter. Mikstore A/C Vent, Type R Center Console, Blacked Out Type S Emblems, and Bonoss Wheel Spacers on standby.

Acura emblems came black, however, Type S emblems were Chrome, had to fix that.

Got the CTR factory LED lights installed, liking the red lighting a lot better. Camera is very generous with the actual lighting, far less bright than pics, still nice nonetheless.

considering this mod - was it worth it?

you can still use a boot with this right? I'm not fan at all of the naked hole some people leave there when they swap out the shifter

IMHO, it got me exactly where I wanted a short shifter to be, it’s tight and exact. The stock shifter is very good, but I’m happy where I ended up with this kit. With that said, it’s a bit pricey, and I specifically got this because I wanted to retain the “stock” look. If you look in the red LED post above, I still have the very much stock look going.

to answer your question, as far as what you can see from inside the car, it is completely stock, only the working bits, under the boot, were changed, I am happy with the results, this is a daily for me, I want to enjoy the interior I bought. It was worth it for me, but price will dictate anyone’s true worth of parts they throw at any car.

Got the WOT Hood struts installed along with the OEM rear seat protector

Removed the WOT decals and wrapped in black vinyl for a more OEM and subtle look.

Did you have a short window where you had done the shifter cable bushings but not yet the rest of the Stage 2 Acuity kit? Any thoughts on how much difference each part made (cable bushings versus all the rest)? I have all of the Stage 2 elements on order aside from the cable bushings for a couple reasons: 1) Acuity offers no "package discount" so there's no benefit to ordering the kit over the individual items; and 2) the relative effort for the cable bushings install seems much greater than the effort for the other 4 items combined. Just curious what to expect, and whether I'll end up wanting the cable bushings too.

Thanks for any insights you can offer here.

Yes, I did the cable bushings first, I was going to install an intake anyway, so figured I would do them at the same time. In the past I have done these on other cars and noticed quite a bit of difference, this car, not so much. Those other cars had quite a bit of mileage on them before I did them. The ITS was very negligible in difference, IMHO. I didn’t really notice a difference. Maybe in 5-6 years I would notice more.

I did what you had done and searched around for the cheapest I could find all of the individual parts to make my own stage 2 kit.

Hope it helps!

Same. The major difference I noticed was at the very end of travel in a few gears it felt less like bumping into rubber and more like bumping into wood, and only if you're really slamming the gears. Street driving, zero difference.

The time spent doing it I found to be wasted, and I wouldn't do it again. I have a drawer full of the rest of all the available acuity parts, and I haven't done anything with them now because the shifter is honestly good enough and I don't want to waste more time. The clutch is the problem... Almost no feel, even with driving shoes.

The shifter itself, at least for me, I didn't want the slop in it and I have always loved a shorter throw when I can get it. It's solid and the shifting is very direct, love the shifter more now. I do agree with you about the clutch, wish it had just a little more stiffness and feel. I won't complain too much, I screwed up my knees in a motorcycle accident; the clutch doesn't mess with the knees much, especially with traffic.

It's a balancing act against stiffness, numbness, and feel for sure. Cars make brutal torque with turbos and are very heavy now, which means grabbier clutches are needed. They also chatter much more when they have stiff springs and preload. I have to admit that from factory they did a good job, but they definitely erred towards comfort. There's some feel once the clutch is really broken in (took me roughly 5k miles and a couple track days to get worn in a bit). I'm looking for a lightweight flywheel to try out on track to really wake up the auto revmatch.

Sorry to hear about the motorcycle accident. My wife keeps telling me if I get a bike she'll kill me before it does 😅
