Honda Racing Corporation USA (HRC US), the North American racing arm for both Honda and Acura, is proud to announce today, Formula R. Its first-ever consumer engine oil line bringing race-proven technology from the track to the street will debut the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas November 4-7. HRC Formula R full synthetic motor oils will be available for consumer purchase next spring at Honda and Acura dealerships across the United States. HRC Formula R Full synthetic motor oil was developed as a premium product in close collaboration with Phillips 66—Honda and Acura’s trusted partner for over 15 years and proud sponsor as well as the official lubricant provider of the race winning Acura ARX-06 race cars.

Formula R will be offered in 6 viscosity grades including 0W-40, the same formulation used in the championship-winning IMSA Civic Type R TCR race car.

“At HRC, we are confident that the Formula R HRC branded oil delivers uncompromising performance and protection,” said Jon Ikeda, senior vice president of HRC US. “Having relied on Phillips 66 in our ARX-06 GTP IMSA race car, we’ve seen firsthand their commitment to excellence. That trust made them the ideal partner to help bring championship-grade performance to our customers.”

It'll be fun to get my hands on it and do some virgin and used Blackstone tests. I was surprised how decent the factory fill was and how mediocre the dealer fill was 🤣.

I'd love for someone to go to a dealer and say "I want the hrc formula R oil" where the dealer will look at them and then say something idiotic like, "that will void your warranty! We only use the finest of sewer water here" 😂

Most likely they won't even know it exists. Acura dealers are so bad...
I had a used car dealer drop off a slightly used m3 at a bmw dealer for a PPI recently and they didn't communicate well. BMW dealer did two recalls, changed oil, changed plugs, cleaned and protected the leather, changed rear brake pads, changed cabin filter, and noted the tires had tread but they needed to be replaced because someone clearly drove on summer tires in KS winter. They then called me to apologize for the miscommunication (that the other dealer caused) and told me the PPI part was free of charge and they'd happily bring me in and buy me lunch to talk over the PPI results 😂. No charge on any of the other work obviously... Which they wouldn't ever have charged me for anyway.

Acura service wouldn't scan my car for codes when I asked them to "because driving on track voids the warranty"... Despite there being a giant poster of a type s on a circuit mounted on the wall behind them 🤣🤣.

I just can't... Last Honda/acura product I'll ever buy, lol.
