I don't want to come across as talking shit but you said this seldom happens, but it sounds like it's happened with such frequency between you and your wife that you've noticed a pattern already.

Here's me stalling my car now when I leave work today :p
Read this last night and stalled pulling out of my driveway this morning 🤦 To make myself feel better I'm going to tell myself you somehow subconscious made me do it.

On a more helpful note, I didn't seem to have any issues with starting it back up again. I did have to push the start button two times total. Once to turn the car off and once to turn it back on and start. The only thing I don't know about is if the A-spec 6 speed has a different behavior then the Type S due to the auto start/stop on the A-spec.

You do have to press the brake if you are unlocking the parking brake.
That would make sense. This is why I'M having the message I guess. I will try to shut it off without the parking brake engaged to see if I still have the message on the cluster to push clutch+brake to start.

It might. I had a Porsche with auto start/stop and, if engaged, when the car stalled it would auto restart as soon as the clutch was depressed.

I have not stalled mine but starting it can take a couple tries. Clutch fully in, sometimes hitting the start button doesn't fire it up all the way or not at all even. Had the dealer look at it and they could not reproduce the issue.

My car has never failed to start, but there is always a delay between depressing the button and the starter turning. I assume it is a matter of programming, although I can't imagine a reason.

I have had my radio take a few seconds to load up after starting. Other than that no issues starting.

I've stalled a few times. Some of them revolve around auto stop-start. I leave it on, so my car turns off, and then back on when I depress the clutch. I usually am in neutral at a stop.
Some of my annoying stalls have been when I thought I was coming to a stop but the light changed at the last moment, and I feel I confused the stop-start, and the car went dead. Usually I am slightly frantic, and the car SEEMS slower to engage.
I've also had it engage after a stall just by depressing the clutch, without pressing the start button. IIRC that's only when it shut down for an instant.
So I put these down to a timing thing with Stop-Start. For me at least.

When the car can’t start at an intersection and there are many cars behind you, it’s a problem. I have been driving manual for quite a few years. Sometimes I am too easy on the clutch. Always keep the RPMs very low when engaging the clutch. Bad habit. I think I’ll check with my dealer to find out what the problem is.
Not a bad habit, that's the correct way to drive a manual in general traffic, especially to extend the life of your clutch.

I find it appaling how many people in this thread are insinuating you're not a good driver for the car stalling. The clutch feel on this car is crap, and the dual pivot spring design at the pedal is awful in the transition zone so it can easily cause the clutch to be jerky. I've also found (and have confirmed with a couple FL5 drivers I know) that sometimes the linkages are just sloppy, and when you push the lever all the way over and up you think you're in first, but surprise!.. You're actually in third. This has improved after I swapped the linkage bushings, but it still happens on occasion, just more noticeable now.

Too many times on this forum and on YouTube I've seen and read people revving to 1500rpm+ to get moving and riding out first gear to 20mph+. I'm from Europe, and for most of my life all I've known are manuals... This kind of driving is how my family defines a "bad driver".

Before my friend wrecked my racecar, I would back it up my driveway and into the garage without ever touching throttle to avoid waking neighbors... That's a car with a carbon driveshaft, 10lb flywheel, and a 6 puck race clutch that's an on off switch... It takes a lot of clutch control to not stall that car. The Integra in comparison, I can almost dump the clutch without throttle and it'll go. I have NEVER stalled that car, but I have stalled the Integra a handful of times.

Unexpected engine shutoff does funny things to a car. Usually it's the cam or crank sensor screwing with you because the car still has power and gets "confused" about position. Usually the best method is to power it totally down first and then put it into acc mode first to allow the fuel pump to prime and electronics reset. Then crank it over. This can be frustrating in traffic. If you have auto stop/start it might have a software/logic problem around properties necessary for a restart in this condition. It could also be low battery voltage or a bad alternator, but you'd likely notice those with other symptoms.

Thank you Victorofhavoc and sharing your story- Many are overly opinionated, but it doesn't bother me. It is normal for individuals to jump to conclusions and then hide behind their comments. I have raced cars in rally - a prelude SRV and a Ford Fiesta ST. When doing this, you need to be able to work on your car/be your own mechanic and help others. You get to see 1st hand the impact of hard driving. I am overly careful with my car as I want to keep it for a long time.
