Ooh that could work too. My idea was more of a flat pad that sits on top of the current pad. That being said, what you just sent could work in tandem with my idea (and also your idea from your original post). Do you have a link to this organizer?

I just got my 3D print back from the library this weekend and I am shocked that my measurements were perfect the first time. The raised lines on the sides of the charger tray fit perfectly into my adapter and there is absolutely zero play when you try to move it around.

The only places I messed up were not specifying to the library to use black filament, and having the charging cord come straight out the back instead of up (this was easily remedied after 10 seconds with a Dremel). The channel for the cable was a bit tight and I had to use a plastic trim removal tool to push the cable in - I think this is fine because I know the cable won't move. The magnetic hold isn't as strong as straight up attaching the MagSafe puck to the back of the phone, so I'm thinking I might remove the small border so the puck sits flush with the adapter and makes contact with the phone. The puck sits in there pretty tightly so I don't think this will be a problem.

I was able to go on a few short drives (20 minutes or less) to test it out. Charging with MagSafe seems to work pretty well and I am able to get a few percent of charge, even when using CarPlay for music and navigation. Gets a bit warm but nothing out of the ordinary for MagSafe charging. I'll have to find time to go on a longer drive and test it out to make sure it continues to charge the phone properly when using navigation.

That looks great. I was able to test out the pick, but it does not charge my phone through the OEM pad. The main problem is that the case and camera bump create too much separation, so the phone does not lay completely flat. Even if I removed the case and placed the phone where the camera bump is over the edge, the thickness of the plastic pad is still too think to initiate the charging. I would love to see something like this attempted for our cars. This one was made for the new MDX. I tried to get ahold of the guy without any luck.

FYI, Apple recommends using a 20W charger with MagSafe. The one you are using is 15W. I purchased a low profile dual cigarette plug on Amazon.

Oh, thanks for the tip on the wattage - I was wondering if the built in USB-C wasn't powerful enough. It seems to mostly work so far but then again I haven't done any long-term testing yet.

If the charging power with 15W isn't good enough, I might look into getting a 20W cig adapter.

I understand what you mean about the charging issues from the thickness of your case. The border I mentioned on my design is .5mm thick, and while it charges fine, the magnets are noticeably weaker than if the puck was touching the phone (or in my scenario, my MagSafe-compatible case).

Is the 3d file for this uploaded anywhere? I recently got a 3D printer and wanted to make this for myself. Any help or guidance with the files would be appreciated.

I do 3D printing on the side, that doesnt look like a hard piece to print. Id be willing to give it a couple test prints if you want. The 3D printers at the local libraries are junk just to amuse children, at least at the local libraries in my area. I have used one before.
